Yesterday, our Year 6 students participated in their first Tri-Tag Rugby interschool sports competition. Their enthusiasm and sportsmanship were incredible as they embraced the challenge of learning to play a new sport.๐๐
Kindergarten had a FARMtastic day at Calmsley Hill City Farm ๐๐๐
Adventure awaited Year 5 on Friday in the wild world of science! Year 5 dove into explosive experiments and unravelled the mysteries of the material world. ๐๐
We enjoyed celebrating our Dads and father figures on Friday with a BBQ breakfast, handball, basketball, a scavenger hunt, paper aeroplane competition and a beautiful liturgy. ๐ญ๐พโ๏ธ

๐ K-2 Students enjoyed a performance which was adapted from the CBCA award winning book Timeless by Kelly Canby. The key message was focusing on quality time with loved ones.
๐ The incredible illustrator David Legge visited this week. He shared his inspiration for his book BAMBOOZLED and showed us how picture books are published and printed.๐๐จ
๐ Christine Kodomichalos, an author of newly published book, A Big Fish is Waiting for Me, visited today! ๐ฃ Students were highly engaged learning all about fishing, sea creatures and understanding why the book has the particular title. Students loved reading the picture book with Christine!

Year 6 had a wonderful excursion to Parliament House and St Marys Cathedral today. The sun โ๏ธ was out and we enjoyed a train ride to town and lunch in Hyde Park. We learnt all about local and federal parliament which compliments our History Unit in class.
Today, as part of our Book Week celebrations, 100 students took part in a Harry Potter trivia competition in the hall. Twenty teams competed in 7 rounds of questions aiming to win the TriWizard Trivia Cup. ๐๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ช

Today we were lucky enough to attend the CBCA Book of the Year Awards. It was a day filled celebrating the magic of reading. ๐ซ
Alessia was a shadow judge reviewing the short listed book, Real Pigeons - Flapout by Andrew McDonald. She presented an engaging review to the audience and this novel received an honour award. ๐ค
We were also lucky enough to be surrounded by many talented authors and illustrators including award winners Tristan Bancks, Briony Stewart and Kelly Canby. ๐
Last week, OLF held a schoolwide maths investigation, called the โPotato Olympics,โ which added a fun twist to our curriculum.
The โSpudletesโ (potatoes) competed in various mathematical challenges such as estimating weight, measuring circumferences and calculating rolling speed.
The event was a huge success with students, enthusiastically engaging in hands on activities that reinforced key mathematical concepts and encouraged critical thinking. The joy and excitement was evident as students collaborated and supported each other.
