Hi Everyone👋

Hope you all have been well and are keeping warm this winter.

We have an exciting announcement to make! ✨
We will be rebranding and doing a launch of that rebrand very soon. 🔜📅

There has been a lot of confusion about the foundation's independence as an organisation. We would like to clear any ambiguity and state that we are an independent organisation that is not associated to any other entity. ✅

Our president has also released a statement which is attached below, regarding the details of our rebranding and the future plans for us as an organisation.📄

In the meantime, if you would like to contact us regarding any queries or concerns please message us here or through our email. We would be more than happy to address your concerns and answer your queries.

Happy New Year 2023! We hope you had a wonderful holiday. 🙌🙌

It’s been a challenging couple of years, and we want you to know we are here for you. We know what it’s like to be an international student in a foreign country, we have been there and seen the challenges faced day in & out.

We are determined more than ever to bring to you, programs, tools, seminars and fundraising events to help you navigate the struggles and challenges in your life. SCCM Foundation has 4 main objectives and at the core of it, we want to empower education.

When we are in a turmoil or going through mental health issues or any life challenges, it is not easy to talk about it or ask for help. But rest assured that we have created a safe space for our students. We are here to listen and support you on this journey. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

If you or anyone you know are facing any challenges please connect with us, we want to hear from you. ❤️‍🩹

08/12/2022

International students are at increased risk of experiencing poor mental health, with isolation from families, culture shock and language barriers, financial stress, and academic pressures among the key drivers. Some students may feel like they don’t belong and start to disengage and disconnect from life. Hence it is why SCCM foundation has created this platform for students, so we can listen to them and help them through the challenges they are facing.

The three key services we aim to provide are:

Mental health: 🧠
We tailor programs designed to help international students with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. We have the resources and tools necessary for the students to learn coping strategies and invite them to a safe space so they can feel comfortable to talk about their mental health. The students will explore topics such as self-awareness, mental health, emotional intelligence, and general wellbeing so that they can thrive in any environment, regardless of what life throws at them. We want to make the students understand that seeking help or reaching out is nothing to be ashamed of, in fact it requires even more strength to tell people I am not okay.

Financial assistance: 💵
To provide financial support to vulnerable and at-risk students. This service is for students who are experiencing financial hardship due to a job loss or other financial matters. We will provide financial assistance such as scholarships, tuition fees, psychological, and counselling fee.

Domestic violence reach: 👩‍🏫
Domestic violence can be in the form of physical, emotional, financial, psychological, and verbal. We provide support services to students who have experienced or at risk of domestic violence in their life. We will also help prevent domestic violence from happening in the student’s community via running workshops and awareness programs. If you know someone is going through domestic abuse, encourage them to seek help.

Tag or share this post to any international students who need support 💕

SCCM foundation is a non-profit organisation built to empower education for international students. We have seen, heard and felt through many powerful stories and they need our love, care and a listening ear. We are here to provide support and assistance to disadvantaged international students in Australia.

We will provide services such as and not limited to Mental & Physical Health Wellbeing Program, Financial Assistance, Domestic Violence Reach so that you can easily deal with ongoing life challenges. Our experience shows that given access and opportunity there is no limit to what students can achieve.

We have also created this platform so you have a voice and we can listen to the challenges you are facing. So if you are struggling or going through anything please get in touch with us so we can help you.

09/09/2022

We are currently in the process of looking at expanding our current team 👥

Let us know if you are interested in making an impact and contributing to a worthwhile cause 👇🏽

09/09/2022

Everyday can be a R U OK day. You don’t need to be an expert to help someone that is mentally struggling. Just a single conversation can help change a life.

You can follow these four simple steps to get the conversation started.

➡️ Ask are you ok?

➡️Listen

➡️Encourage action

➡️Check in

It’s important to remember that it’s not easy for people to open up & be vulnerable about their struggles so we need to listen to them with empathy & compassion. These conversations are an opportunity to also build meaningful relationships & connection to the people around you. When you know there is a support system, that genuinely cares for your well-being, you feel less alone & overwhelmed.

The more awareness we can bring around mental health, the more positive difference we can make & ultimately save lives.

R U Ok? We want to hear about your life struggles & the challenges you have faced. So please connect with us. Link in bio.
