We are a different kind of mental health charity - we’re 100% funded by car enthusiasts on a mission to drive towards the end of mental health stigma. Established in 2011, the Cars For Hope charity organisation is a non-profit movement of passionate automotive enthusiasts who are dedicated to driving hope towards those suffering from depression, anxiety, self-injury and raising awareness of the is
3,249 Australians died by su***de in 2022 and over 7 million are close to someone who has died by su***de or attempted su***de.
Every day, we’re working to change the statistics. Today, September 10 is World Su***de Prevention Day. Here at Cars For Hope, it’s become the most important date on our calendar. Since 2013, our campaign has been built around a statement and this year we’ve decided with “Reasons to stay alive”. We chose these words because we’ve been inspired by you, our car community, strangers who have became friends and served as characters in our story, friends who remind us that our story is worth fighting for.
We want people to know that their life matters, and their story is significant. More than anything, we want people to know that it’s okay to be honest, and it’s okay to ask for help. The highlight of our work is when people say things like, “I’m still alive because of Cars For Hope.” Or “I got help because of you guys.”
We need your help in bringing this message to people everywhere. Whether it’s online, at a car meet, the dinner table or the race track – our hope is that this campaign might lead to life-changing conversations. The Cars For Hope story has been one of people connecting with hope and help by talking about things that aren’t usually talked about. Too many people feel alone. Too many people feel invisible. This campaign is our attempt to tell people that they matter, that they’re not alone, that there are many reasons why you should stay.
Here's how you can help: www.carsforhope.com.au/iamdriven
We are so grateful that you are alive.
You don’t have to do everything all at once. Give yourself space to just exist.
No matter how big or small your challenges are and despite what the world thinks or what your mind is saying about it, our message is and always will be, that they matter.
Say it louder for the people in the back:
Resting is not weak or lazy, it’s necessary.
We are stories still going.
How are you really doing? It's OK to be honest.
No matter what you're facing. We want you to know that people have been where you are now. Things can get better. Healing is possible.
Over the years we've had hundreds of stories submitted by our car community to share their personal experiences. You can view them or submit your own here: https://carsforhope.com.au/stories/
When was the last time you went for a drive just because?
We owe it to one another to show up when we can. People need other people.
The world around us can be a lot to handle. You are not expected to be perfect or to do it alone. We will face this together.
Stop scrolling for a moment. We want to remind you that you are enough, just as you are. Take a breath and let that sink in: You are enough.
We’re glad you’re here. 💙
Taking the difficult step of reaching out when you are feeling low can be life changing. No matter what you're facing. We want you to know that people have been where you are now. Things can get better. Healing is possible.

Feeling alone in a battle against depression is something no one should ever have to experience. So to remind those in need we're creating an album of photographs to remind them that their life matters and to show the love we have for them.
We're asking those who wear our Cars For Hope or stickers to drop a photo of their car wearing our stickers on our Facebook wall or email us at [email protected]. In the comments section please include your First Name, Car and Location. E.g. Berty, Honda S2000, Sydney.
Have a read of what the sticker means to us here: https://carsforhope.com.au/2013/01/what-that-sticker-means/
Stickers are available here: https://store.carsforhope.com.au/
Feel free to tag yourselves in this album when you've been featured and tell your mates why you wear 'Cars For Hope' on your car.
Who you were one month ago, one week ago, one day ago, is not who you are now. Embrace yourself in this moment, and find hope for who you can be tomorrow, next week, next month.
We want to know: what's something that is making your night better? What are you looking forward to?
Here's to all of the things you thought you couldn't do. Here's to your will to keep going.
We hope that it is indeed a happy Mother’s Day, that there is much to celebrate and that Mums feel loved.
But we wanted to take this moment to acknowledge that it is also a hard day for so many.
For mothers who lost children. For children who lost mothers. For those who long to be mothers. For those who can’t be in the same room. We pause to say we see you. We’re sorry for your pain, your sadness, your longing. You are not alone.
It's OK to not be OK. If things get a little too tough, talk to someone you trust, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 for help or visit our "Find Help" page for helpful links: https://carsforhope.com.au/find-help/

We are so glad that you exist.
Imagine.
As we pause to remember the men and women killed in combat, we choose also to remember the soldiers lost to su***de and mental ill health.
To soldiers and to the friends and family of soldiers, we pause to acknowledge you today, to say that you matter. The things you’ve seen, the things you’ve lost, the battles that you fight, the dreams that steal your sleep – may we never call them small.
As a community we need to acknowledge the higher rate of PTSD in our veteran community.
To the ones who fought for peace and freedom, we hope those things for you. We hope for rest and healing, and innocence again. We hope for people who will listen and the strength in you to speak. May other people know you, walk with you in the questions and recovery. May you get the help you need, the help that you deserve.
We say that we see you, and not only as a soldier but also as a person. Someone not unlike us. You are significant.
If things get tough, know that we hear you, we see you and we’re with you. Reach out to someone you trust. Remember you're not alone in the places you feel stuck.
