Nobody said the road to recovery would be a walk in the park but I’m tackling each obstacle and embracing each step forward 🚶♀️👌🏼
Today’s update -
👉🏼 Currently facing a teeny-tiny set-back (occurring day 14) - mild hamstring tear, but I’ll be ok 👍🏼😁 Thank goodness I had a physio appointment today 🥳 A bit of strapping tape and off I trot 🩹
👉🏼 Nailed some body weight squats (to a bench), body weight glute bridges and some light A/F Romanian deadlifts 🙏🥳🫶🏼 Form is definitely not great but this was a huge milestone and I couldn’t be happier 🤩 The 90 degree knee bend was super tough but the movement felt amazing 🩷
Tomorrow is a new day - can’t wait 💪🏼🤩🦵🏼🥳
14 days post-op 🫶🏽
It feels like a lifetime ago between pre-op and now 😳
For someone who is constantly ‘GO, GO, GO’ every single day, this knee op certainly has packed a punch 🤜🏼
Openly safe to say, it has been a rough 2-weeks:
👉🏼 Secretly feeling ALL the feels and emotions
👉🏼 Needing to ‘drop my guard’ and ask for help
👉🏼 Feeling like a burden to my support system
👉🏼 Being ‘forced’ to slow down
👉🏼 Having limited mobility
👉🏼 Questioning my decisions
And the biggest one…
👉🏼 Not being physically capable of keeping up with my daughter 😔
There is still a long road ahead with recovery and rehabilitation BUUUT each day ahead is onward and upwards! During all the chaos in my head, there is clarity and I have also:
💪🏽 A new understanding around injury, limitation and recovery
💪🏽 Am learning not to always push myself to the limit
💪🏽 Learning and understanding that I am not a machine or ‘Super Woman’ - that I don’t have to do it all
💪🏽 Learning how to graciously accept help if and when needed
💪🏽 Am ever so grateful for the amazing support system around me 🩷
💪🏽 I respect all my feels, I respect the journey and I have faith in the future
💪🏽 Even though my baby is 18months old, she knows ‘mummy has a sore leg’ and that I’ll be ok 🩷
We all tackle obstacles and set-backs in life!
Some minor, some major!
Feel all the feels but don’t dwell on the negative - learn to adapt and find the positives 🩷

Here at PBF the focus of our workouts is STRENGTH TRAINING. Some can be scared of this when they do not understand how valuable it can be for your body. We thought we would come on and clear up the misconceptions around strength training and WHY we choose this form of workout 🙏🏻
Much to most of our disgust, we are all aging and as we age, our bones and muscles age too. This decreases our bone density and muscle mass, making us weaker and more prone to fractures and other Joint and bone related problems. The good news is, strength training can reverse these natural parts of aging and allows us to age without missing out on the things we love!
We have professional trainers that lead our babes through the workouts, ensuring that each person is safe and working to their personal strengths. The best part of this form of workout is that it helps us to feel empowered and strong ⭐️
