The fascist military has been brutally cracking down on peaceful protesters, committing arrests and killings, torturing detainees in interrogation, and taking the families of activists as hostage to this day. We the students, who have earned the publicโ€™s trust, continue to fight relentlessly in all methods of struggle against this regime โ€“ marking one year today.

The fascist military has long oppressed our ethnic peoples and minorities, hoarding wealth only for the military elites. This was done under the 2008 Constitution which was veiled with a faรงade of democracy and masked behind the elected government. Yet, as if that was not enough, on February 1, 2021, the military went a step further and forcefully staged a coup dโ€™รฉtat, for the third time in history. Since then, the people from all walks of life โ€“ not willing to accept the fascist military rule โ€“ has shown their resistance and defiance through the Civil Disobedience Movement and peaceful, non-violent protests nationwide.

We, the Student Unions, believe that our country has never truly enjoyed a genuine freedom in which all strata of our society โ€“ across different nationalities and social classes โ€“ are free, despite gaining independence from the colonial rule. Such a freedom could only be achieved after the fascist military that has been exploiting our country and its wealth and oppressing our people for decades is uprooted. We Student Unions hereby pledge our commitment and dedication to stand together with the people in the fight to topple this fascist military junta until the very end.

โ€œYou can never rule us.โ€

โ€œWe will triumph this final battle.โ€
