End of Semester Liveaboard! ⚓️

Not only did we make it out to the reef but we had amazing weather, did a night dive at the SS Yongala, AND we saw Dwarf Minkes! 🐋 We connected with new friends from other dive clubs, certified 3 new AOW’s and 2 of us completed our 100th dive!

Join us in celebrating World Ocean Day with our beach cleanup of Pallarenda! 🌊🌎 On Saturday, the 8th of June at 9:30 a.m. we will meet at Pallarenda Park as a group. We will work our way along the beach searching for trash, so please bring proper sun protection and water to stay hydrated! If you would like, you can bring gloves to pick up garbage. However we are providing bags for groups of people to use! Help us give back to the ocean by cleaning up one of the beaches on the Great Barrier Reef! You do not need to be a member to attend.

We are having a BBQ bash to celebrate the end of our first semester of 2024 and to thank all of our member! There will be tons of hot food and snacks, cold bevies, and lawn games! Hello to my fellow underwater enthusiasts, the names Jack. I’ve been diving for the past 6 years and have been a DM for the last 2 of those years. I am the only Aussie on this years JCU Diveclub Committee, so I’m proud to represent the green and yellow. I am an under-grad, studying Marine Science and originate from the always beautiful Sunshine Coast, QLD. Growing up in Australian, you’re always surrounded by wildlife and living only 2 minutes from the ocean helped fuel the « always outside » obsession. I am 2024’s G.R.O.M (Merch man) so if you have any ideas or feedback on our merchandise its always welcome, unless its negative, then I’ll blame it on someone else.
