It was a wonderful opportunity for our partners to see and feel the difference their support makes to the lives and futures of our students. ๐

Happy NAIDOC Week to all!
Together with NRL Cowboys House, home away from home for 100 Indigenous boarding students, we celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We're fortunate to be part of a vibrant House community of students and families from 29 remote communities, with learning, connecting and sharing of culture part of every day.
Job opportunities, work experience, fundraising and now a partnership renewal - Downer Group are true partners with NRL Cowboys House in creating opportunities for our young people.
These include 2022 graduate Josh, who is completing an HVAC apprenticeship with Downer, and current students Bruce, Heze, Steven, Kalina, Aleeah and Tahliyah, who have all been accepted for casual gym attendant positions at Townsville Defence bases.
Congratulations to all the students who interviewed for the roles and thank you to Downer for their continued support in removing distance as a barrier to education.

The Cowboys co-captain has family ties to the Torres Strait Islands and continues to learn and share cultural knowledge while being a great role model for our students. Congratulations, Reubs!
We're a better community because of the tireless fundraising efforts of the Townsville Chiefs MRLC๐ Our goal of installing solar for the NRL Cowboys House Girls Campus is getting closer - this will help us save $ on utility costs and redirect valuable funds to our education, transitions, cultural and wellbeing programs for our Indigenous boarding students. Thank you to everyone supporting the Chiefs & our program!
5,724km - that's how far the amazing runners from RHINO - Rural Health in the Northern Outback covered in their Marathon in May, raising $1,685 for our charity and NRL Cowboys House!
Club RHINO is a student group who are passionate about improving the health of our regional, rural and remote communities, and we're so grateful to be chosen for their annual fundraiser.
If you have a fundraising idea to support our life-changing programs, send us a DM - we'd love to hear from you!

The sky's the limit for our NRL Cowboys House students, with a group gaining insights into a career in the travel industry and experiencing a meeting and breakfast in a Brisbane city boardroom!
Thanks to our House partner Corporate Travel Management ANZ for hosting students and staff on their recent visit.
Corporate Travel Management and CBRE jointly fund the Sistas Stand Strong program for the 50 young women who call the House home during the school year.
What an experience! Our NRL Cowboys House students were thrilled to represent their communities and our region at the Queensland Gives Philanthropy Awards โ plus enjoy some sightseeing in Brisbane. Well done to the students and our dedicated staff involved ๐
NRL Cowboys House was up in lights for the Queensland Gives Philanthropy Awards, with an excited group of students showcasing their culture for some of Queenslandโs most generous philanthropists.
10 boarding students originally from Badu Island, Saibai Island, Thursday Island, Yorke Island, Yam Island, Mossman and Yarrabah communities made the journey to Brisbane thanks to the generosity of the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation.
We're grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness for our life-changing program and celebrate the strong spirit of giving in our great state.

One of our favourite events on the NRL Cowboys House calendar, the annual shirt presentation - students received their official 'Nhinhinhi' House polos and learned about the design story from artist and House Parent Bradley Michael.
The shirts are worn with pride and bring together students, staff and supporters, including House partner ARC - The Australian Reinforcing Company, featured on the shirt sleeve. We thank John Reeves and Nathan Stolz for joining us at this special event.
You can show your support by securing your own House polo, on sale now through the Cowboys Team Shop >>> https://bit.ly/3Vaew9V
We're very proud of our entry and top-5 finalist in the 2024 Queensland Gives Photo Challenge, 'Generational Kindness', taken by Matt Taylor.
Featuring 2023 NRL Cowboys House graduate Leland and his grandmother Helen at last year's NAIDOC Day, the photo celebrates kindness and giving through the sharing of cultural knowledge through the generations.
Well done to all entrants and thanks to Queensland Gives for the opportunity!
Exchanging cultural gifts is an NRL Indigenous Round tradition, and now a proud moment for artist and NRL Cowboys House boarding parent Bradley Michael.
Bradley's beautifully hand-carved spear and woomera, symbols of deep respect and heritage, were presented to Wests Tigers by North Queensland Toyota Cowboys co-captain and House player ambassador Reuben Cotter.
From the Tigers, the clapsticks welcome the teams coming together, representing song and the beat of the heart together in harmony, while the coolamon represents the carrying of knowledge.
A huge shout-out to NRL Cowboys House student Ty and Toyota Australia for the opportunity to raise funds in the Toyota Torpedo at Cowboys v Tigers! Ty's nerves of steel under the high ball banked $800 to support our life-changing programs, including NRL Cowboys House.
Now more than ever, we are proud to promote reconciliation through our life-changing programs and initiatives like our annual Indigenous design.
It was a special moment to capture NRL Cowboys House boarding parent and artist Bradley Michael talking with son and House graduate Leland about their family connections with his design story, โNhinhinhi Gurra Bamawi Guuguโ (how the giant Nhinhinhi fish changed the languages).
We honour the stories from our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to help us learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements.
Today, on National Sorry Day, the Cowboys Community Foundation remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities.
Today on this national day of healing, we recognise the importance of reflection and commemoration in working towards reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
Our NRL Indigenous Round charity auction featuring signed jerseys and player boots is open now for bidding!
All proceeds support our life-changing programs, including NRL Cowboys House.
