Nice blue sky morning, launching from Waterford Boat Ramp on the Logan River - 12 km paddled. Tomorrow morning at Saturday club should be terrific!! ~GrAndy

Nice day, so Erin and I (GrAndy) went for a lazy paddle on Coombabah Creek, launching from Jabiru Island, Paradise Point.

We found a Striated Heron, a bunch of elegant Black-winged Stilts, hanging out with 5 juvenile Bar-tailed Godwits, a White-faced Heron, a couple of Collared Kingfishers, one big White-bellied Sea Eagle, and a few Whimbrels flew off with their musical bell-like alarm call.

On the way back we saw an Intermediate Egret, and a few stingrays. The stingrays were lying in wait for food as the tide started to run out in a shallow sandy channel we took as a short cut.

I did a couple of 400m surges at 11 to 13 kph to get the blood flowing. ~GrAndy
