Milestones:

Been very slack with Milestones of late…so here goes an update from the Winter Season.

Starting with Matches Played:

Damien Milsom played his 400th LMS match on Sunday for an amazing 88 different teams. It’s normal for Damo to play at Gaythorne in the morning, then Beaudesert around midday and then Brisbane South at 3.00pm…

https://www.lastmanstands.com/cricket-player/t20&playerid=242880

Matt Turbill

Played his 300th LMS match recently, it’s taken a while as his 50 year old body struggles to back up week to week. It’s only taken him 7 years to do so!

https://www.lastmanstands.com/cricket-player/t20?playerid=147855

Daniel Lake from the Bucheurs passed his 200th game in recent weeks, 158 of them for the Bucheurs including a trip to Cape Town as captain of the only Aussie team to attend the World Champs in December 2023.

https://www.lastmanstands.com/cricket-player/t20?playerid=219163

Dean Granzien of The 2nd XI played his 200th match on the weekend, turning out in Ipswich in the morning and then Beaudesert in the afternoon he passed the 200 match mark and made it count with one of the biggest 6’s seen at Malling Park, measuring 100+ metres. Cane Toads v Ruthless

Cane Toads put the ever improving Ruthless to the sword on Sunday as they delivered a 115 run victory. Batting first Cane Toads blasted 4/167 as skipper Matty Attkins notched up 50 from 30, while Josh Foenander was on fire with 50 from 23.

Tyler Brown was the only batter to show resistance as he hit 22, but it was one way traffic for the Toads as Ruthless were rolled for 52. Nathan Foenander nabbed 2/21, Josh Foenander 2/20 and Daniel Haack 2/3 from his only over as the Toads dispatched their opposition ruthlessly.

2 Ducks Gone V Tad Poles from the pen of umpire Brodie Dwyer!

Enterprising contest to round out the day on the main deck at Malling. Tad Poles would bat first and post a solid score of 170. A strong opening stand between Warwick Gibson and Daniel Muller laid the platform for a solid total. Skipper Gav Andrews controlled the middle overs with a well rounded 36 from 19 whilst Scott Barsi came home with a bang to finish 41 from 24 not out. Connor Mills the pick of the bowlers with a tidy 2/20 from his three overs.

In reply, 2 Ducks started confidently through Chris Short who struck regular boundaries on his way to 50* from 31 deliveries. Daniel Nolan wasted no time adding 31 from 17 at number 3 before he was trapped in front by Warwick Gibson who claimed figures of 2/17 from his two overs. Tight bowling in the back end the difference despite late resistance from Connor Mills who selflessly ran himself out trying to guide the Ducks home. Connor would finish 32 from 18 in a MOTM effort. Tad Poles home by 8 runs in the end. Gav Andrews tight spell, opening and closing the innings at 6.5 an over a major factor in the win.

Good all round game of LMS cricket played in good spirits 👏

Jarred Craven and Jimmy Dumbrell both picked up a pair of wickets but it wasn’t enough to stop the flowing red locks of Yappie saving the day.
