It’s set to be a big night!

Jake will be jumping in for his first K1 bout.
Chizzy is jumping in the ring again for Mod Thai.
And Raph is stepping in for his first K1 title fight!

Over this past weekend, we had Raph, Lochie and Coach Mitch head into very big bouts.

Raph and Loch jumping back into the cage on , with Coach Mitch jumping into his pro boxing debut on .jez .
Each with tough opponents.

How did they go?

Well…
Down in Canberra;
We saw Raph jump into the cage first for his 4th MMA fight. Raph is no stranger to putting his hand up to big battles, that most would turn away from.
Raph blew everyone away with his incredible wrestling defence and control, earning his win via stoppage in the first round.
No one wants to eat those shots.
TKO to Raph, the Ruthless.

Next, we saw Lochie head into the cage.
His first fight as a light weight (70kg), the lightest he’s fought.
Lochie showed everyone his incredible wrestling and strength.
Lochie was victorious in round 3 via submission (RNC).

To finish the night, in Sydney we watched Mitch have his pro boxing debut.
His first boxing fight, against an opponent having their 8th Pro boxing fight.
Heading into the bout as the underdog doesn’t faze him at all.
Mitch went the full 4 rounds with a strong opponent, to gain a unanimous victory.

The night couldn’t have been better.
It was hard as a close team to have been split for the night, but shared live streams helped everyone stay connected and informed of the other parties.

We’re so proud of these 3 legends.
Congratulations champs. ♥️

THIS SATURDAY, 13th April - will be our first WEEKLY Women’s only MMA.
This class is catered to beginners and intermediate level.

Class begins at 11am sharp and will run for a duration of 1-1.5hrs.
Every Saturday starting from this weekend.

Price: $10 per person.

We’re very excited to share this incredible new collaboration.

Shane Haffenden from .bjj will be joining us at Oni Fight Team as our new Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Nogi Jiu Jitsu coach!
Shane is a well recognised Black Belt with a lifetime of experience within martial arts.

Shane and his team will be joining us on Tuesday 16th April.
A new timetable will be live as of this weekend with additional classes listed.

As said in our previous post, Jay and Dom work hard both in and out of their camps.
They both deserve these immensely.

Saturday 23rd March -

This past weekend, the team headed down to Canberra for another amazing Endouro Fight Series show.

Jayden jumping in the cage again on Endouro, while Dom jumped in for the first time on their promotion.

Dom was up first to kick off the night.
Setting a high pace for his fight, Dom dominated for 2 rounds. Winning by RNC in the second round.
Displaying his incredibly advanced striking and progressive MMA skills, Dom made spectators believe he was pro!
A well deserved win and still the beginning of an amazing career for Dom.

At fight number 8, we saw Jayden head into the cage.
Having an incredible mma debut on Endouros very first show, Jayden showed yet again why he is a sought after fighter.
Dominating his bout against a very strong wrestler, Jayden was victorious in the second round via an Anaconda choke.

Jayden and Dom are two of the hardest workers in our gym. They show up every session, eager to get the work done and always without complaint.
In and out of camp.

They’re both amazing role models and teammates for everyone at Oni Fight Team.

We couldn’t be more proud of Jay and Dom. We’re excited to continue to be apart of their journeys and support their amazing careers.

Double Champs / Triple Gold 🥇🥇🥇

Today, we heading up to Liverpool for striking tournament.
With over 100 competitors, we saw both Novice and Intermediate athletes compete.

First up, Ella stepped in for her first MMA Novice match.
Though her opponent had the height advantage, we knew El was going to be too strong.
Upon the beginning of the match, Ella adjusting quickly to her opponent’s speedy striking and worked towards gaining a body lock to bring her opponent to the ground. From there we knew El would be comfortable in her element.
Having total control for the remainder of the round, to then work for her signature arm-bar within the last 30seconds. = First Gold.

A few hours past, we saw El back on the mats now for her Novice Striking bout.
A 2x1m30s bout, coach Mitch instructing El to dig deep to give everything she had left.
After adjusting to her opponents speedy striking, El listened intently to her corner and executed the game plan to dominate the bout. Even sneaking in a cheeky front push quick to the face.
Winning her second Gold via decision.

Sometime past and we saw Jake step in for his Intermediate Striking bout.
Listening impeccably to his corner, Jake displayed his well rounded striking and incredible kick variation/power. Many of us have been on the receiving end of Jake’s kicks, so we know his opponent was hurting (tomorrow wont be much better).
Three rounds of domination, Jake earned his Gold.
The loudest, craziest match of the whole event. Jake knows how to bring a crowd.

We’re so proud of both El and Jake today. Our location wasn’t easy, it was hot and incredibly busy.. but they remained calm, patient and switched on for their matches.

We’re excited to have new direction for their training and even more so for their future accomplishments.

MARCH FIGHTERS CONTINUES..

March is shaping to be a MASSIVE month for everyone at the OFT headquarters.
As well as Boxing bouts, both amateur and profession, we’ll also see our MMA crew jump back into the cage for the first time in 2024.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate and thankful to always be welcomed by Mick, Ben and now Danielle. Thank you for having us on what we already know will be another amazing show.

We won Saturday 🥊

Today, we had our second MMA Girls only session. A total of 16 lethal beauties came together to learn some new martial arts skills and have fun!
Today, we worked some combos into clinch, sweeps and ground work. Everyone did amazing 🤩
It’s looking to certainly become a weekly occurrence.
New interest is always welcome 🤗

After our girls MMA, we had the team from travel down for some sparring. Everyone worked well together and we had some great rounds between gyms.

There’s no previous experience required.
Participants will only need shinguards, mma or boxing gloves (mma gloves preferably) and a mouth guard (if you want).

To start off 2024, we’d like to acknowledge a couple of legends.

Charlie and TJ.

Charlie’s started with us back in Jan 2023.
The amount he has grown and progressed in less than a year is phenomenal.
Charles genuinely has the biggest heart in the gym. He challenges himself every session, asks questions, seeks advice, watches, listens and does.

He doesn’t back down from a tough session or opponent. He sees success in all that he does because he knows learning and progression = succeeding.

We love having Charles with us and we’re so fortunate to have him.
Thank you for being you Charles. We’re all endlessly proud of you. ♥️

TJ has been with us from the beginning. Joining in December 2021.
TJ has been one of the most consistent and hardworking members we’ve been blessed with.
He’s one of the hardest workers in each session. Trialing new techniques and combos, breaking down anything that may not have worked for him until it does, analysing other members skills and patterns to better his own and always being a helpful hand and huge support.
He works hard each class and is one of the toughest challenges for anyone across each discipline.
AND he’s the only member that has consistently booked in for his sessions. (Yes, remember we have a booking system 😉).

We truly value and appreciate having TJ apart of our team.

Thank you Charles and TJ for being apart of our team. It wouldn’t be Oni Fight Team without you.
