Another victory for our U14 Div 1 Girls in the Champion of Champions league
The U14 Girls have kept their Champion of Champions finals alive when they defeated Penrith Rovers FC at Macedonia Park Berkeley yesterday. Taking a commanding 4-1 lead in the first half, they then got to back off in the second half to finish 5-2.
Well done girls.
They are now through to the semi-finals scheduled for 12:15pm on 15th October against East Gosford FC at Valentine Sports Park in Glenwood.

Champion of Champions Update
On the weekend the U14 Girls Div 1 and U16 Girls Div 1 teams played in the first knock out round of the Champion of Champions Trophy.
The U16 Girls played Banksia Tigers at Peakhurst Park with a tough and physical game where both teams were very evenly matched. An unfortunate goal in the first half off a corner gave Banksia the lead and despite a number of shots on goal by UOW they were unable to equalise. The final score UOW 0 - Banksia 1.
The U14 Girls played Rockdale City Suns FC. Another evenly matched game with UOW getting 1-0 up in the first half. A goal by each team in the second half left UOW U14s the winners 2-1.
The U14s now move on to play Penrith Rovers on Sunday 8th October. Good luck girls.
Well done to all the UOW teams playing their semi finals today, with a number of tough games fought out today.
Starting with the U15 Div 2 team who dominated Port Kembla 6-1 to put them up against Kiama in the final next week.
The U15 Div 1 game was a very colourful affair against Coniston but at the final whistle UOW came out on top 3-1 putting them through to the final against Cringila Lions next week.
The U16 Girls Div 2 White team kept their finals hopes alive, coming back from 2-1 down in the first half to defeat Thirroul 4-2 with Thea Fox scoring all 4 goals.
In the other U16 Girls Div 2 match between the 1st place and undefeated Unanderra side and 2nd placed UOW Yellow, UOW took it to 0-0 at the end of extra time but unfortunately went down in the penalty shoot out 4-2. They will now play the UOW White team in the Finals Derby next week at Beaton Park.
The U13 Girls Div 1 team were 1-1 at full time against Russell Vale but unfortunately went down 2-1 in the last 2 minutes of extra time.
The U14 Girls Div 1 unfortunately had their first loss of the season to go down 2-1 against Shellharbour they will now play Russel Vale in the final next week.
Finally the U16 Girls Div 1 team had to fight hard to win their back and forth tussle with Shellharbour 0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 2-3, 3-3, 4-3 and finishing with a goal in the final minutes to end up 5-3 sending them through to the Grand Final in 2 weeks against next weeks winner of Shellharbour vs Thirroul.
CONGRATULATIONS UOW 13-3s & 14-2s
The first 2 games of the Semi Finals were played today and have resulted in 2 wins to UOW Football Club.
U13-3s defeated Balgownie 1-0 at Judy Masters Oval with a goal in the 52 minute by Hussein Abbas.
The U14-2s had a win over Helensburgh 2-1 at Unanderra Oval with a goal in the 13th minute by Levi Machan. Helensburgh equalised late in the first half, but UOW hit back with the deciding goal in the 60th minute by Marko Radic.
Well done and congratulations to both teams!

The under 14s Girls, Under 15 Div 1 and 16 Girls Div 1 are playing at Beaton Park on Sunday. It would be great if anyone is able to volunteer to assist, please let us know if you are able to assist for an hour or a few as we will need as much help as possible to ensure the day runs smoothly.

Well done to the UOW U16 Girls Div 1 team who defeated Liverpool City 4 - 1 in the first game of the NSW State Cup. You have done the club proud. Looking forward to the next match.

Season 2023 kicks off this weekend for all teams, we have put together an information pack to assist with things throughout the season and requirements for matchdays from all teams. Please take the time to review.
The club is looking to get more junior referees for game days. It is a great opportunity for anyone aged above 13 to make some money and be involved in the game.
