It's certainly been a massive past 36 hours for the Bohud Racing team! Following the cancellation of last night's fourth Ultimate Sprintcar Championship round at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway in Queensland, the team made the decision to attend last night's practice meeting at the newly reshaped Sydney International Speedway.
At the time of yesterday morning's cancellation of the Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway meeting, the Bohud Racing team was travelling near Tenterfield on the NSW-Queensland border, so upon receiving the news, they turned around and made the 9-hour dash to Sydney.
The team pulled into the Sydney International Speedway track just before 6pm last night.
Team driver Michael Stewart took part in four practice sessions during the night around Sydney International Speedway aboard the NS # 14 ARRMA Australia / Illawarra Truck Repairs & Spares supported Triple X.
"It's been a huge 36 hours for the whole team, and a big thanks must to go to everyone for all of their efforts," praised Bohud Racing team owner Scott Jones.
"As we don't get the opportunity to practice that often, the team experimented with a few setups on the car during the sessions, and by the final session, Michael was really happy with the car, so it was a really productive night."
The Bohud Racing team is now looking forward to returning to Sydney International Speedway when racing action resumes there in the not too distant future.
The focus now for the Bohud Racing team is on this Saturday night's NSW 410 Sprintcar Title that is to be held at Dubbo Speedway.

Unanderra's Bohud Racing breaks through for second 410 Sprintcar victory Their first win came almost 12 months to the date in Sydney.
BOHUD RACING RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE
THE Bohud Racing team and their driver Michael Stewart scored their second career 410 Sprintcar feature race victory together, after they took out the spoils in last night’s second Regional Rumble Series round at Dubbo Speedway in the central west of NSW.
In what was a hard-fought battle for the lead throughout the feature race with his best mate, Jackson Delamont, the NS # 14 ARRMA Australia / Illawarra Truck Repairs & Spares supported Triple X driver managed to hold on and defeat Delamont in second and Warren Ferguson in third.
As one would imagine, Stewart was rapt to give the Bohud Racing yet another feature race victory.
“It was an unreal night to be able to battle for the lead with Jackson (Delamont) lap after lap, and it was certainly helped with some lucky yellow light stoppages when we really needed them and they certainly kept us in the fight,” commented the 28-year-old from Collector in NSW.
“The whole Bohud Racing team worked hard on the car throughout the night, as we were chasing the track conditions, but we had a really good car for the feature race, and full credit must go to the Bohud Racing team for all of their efforts and it was awesome to be able to reward them with another win.”
Bohud Racing team owner Scott Jones was equally as pleased to pick up the team’s second feature race victory, which was exactly the same weekend as last season’s breakthrough victory at Sydney’s Eastern Creek Speedway on February 4 in 2023.
“Michael did a fantastic job all night and the battle with Jackson (Delamont) for the lead in the feature race was a very close, and Michael’s talent as a driver was certainly on show, as he just knows how to win and what to do to finish off races like that,” he praised.
“It’s funny as how things work out, as last night’s win came on exactly the same weekend as when Michael won at Eastern Creek Speedway 12 months ago. Although we haven’t done a whole lot of racing this season, Michael and the team keep working hard to get the best out of one another and hopefully we can build on this and finish the season off strongly.”
Earlier in the night, Stewart had finished his two heat races with a sixth and a win, which earned him a position five starting spot for the feature race.
Stewart and the Bohud Racing team would like to give credit to the whole Dubbo Speedway Club for all of their efforts in getting the race meeting in following an earlier incident in one of the support classes that caused a lengthy delay. They would also like to send out their well wishes to the injured Wingless Sprint driver Brad O’Brien, who they hope makes a speedy recovery.
The Bohud Racing team is planning to next be in action on February 24, when they will travel up to Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway in Queensland for the fourth round of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship. Stewart is currently sitting third in the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship point standings behind leader Lachlan McHugh and second-placed Luke Oldfield.

CONFIDENCE boosting, that was the best way for the Bohud Racing team to describe their finish to their 2024 Australian 410 Sprintcar Championship campaign at Premier Speedway, Warrnambool.
In what was their first visit to the Premier Speedway track together and first Australian Championship attempt together, the Bohud Racing team and their driver Michael Stewart finished the weekend with a 10th place finish in the B main. This result came, after Michael had worked his way forward throughout the C main to pick up an impressive third-place finish in the C main and book a rear-of-field B main start.
"We learned a lot throughout the weekend, and although we had moments that were disappointing, we were pleased to be able to push on as a team and finish with some confidence-boosting performances," commented Bohud Racing team owner Scott Jones.
"So far this season we have only ran a handful of times and it wasn't the best preparation heading into an Australian Championship weekend, but we are now looking forward to trying to race on a more regular basis for the rest of the season."
This Saturday night (February 3) at Dubbo City Speedway in the central west of NSW is going to be the next appearance for the Bohud Racing team and their driver Michael Stewart.

WILLIAM SHINES FOR BOHUD RACING
SINCE the formation of Bohud Racing, the main goal for team owner Scott Jones has been to give young drivers the opportunity to go 410 Sprintcar racing, and the latest example of this came at Nowra Speedway last night, when substitute driver William Lucas put in a solid performance.
Filling in for regular Bohud Racing team driver Michael Stewart, who was away competing in the Chili Bowl Nationals over in America, William – a driver with only 10 race meetings in a 410 Sprintcar to his name – enjoyed an impressive run throughout the night and ended it with a second-place finish in the feature race.
“I can’t speak highly enough about William, from the first time I got in contact with him to run for the team through to last night’s on-track performance, he’s been great to deal with,” expressed proud Bohud Racing team owner Scott Jones.
“The goal for the night was to just put a decent car under him and the rest was going to be up to him, and he well and truly stood up and showed his ability behind the wheel by driving well all night.”
Jones, from Unanderra on the south coast of NSW, continued on by saying that he really enjoyed the night and being able to provide a fellow local driver a chance to run the team’s NS # 14 ARRMA Australia / Illawarra Truck Repairs & Spares backed Triple X car.
“When it was announced that Sprintcars were returning to Nowra Speedway and the fact our regular driver Michael (Stewart) wasn’t going to be able to race, the team and I got thinking, and that’s when William’s name come up, and I’m so glad I was able to provide this opportunity to him and we were able to enjoy a solid night,” he said.
“Bohud Racing was formed to give young drivers a chance behind the wheel of a 410 Sprintcar with a strong team, and as Michael has proven what he can do with good support behind him, and now William is another example of this.”
As one would expect, the Kembla Heights-based William was thrilled with his run last night at Nowra Speedway, but at the same time, he was very grateful for the chance provided to him by the Bohud Racing team.
“The Bohud Racing team is a first-class operation and a great bunch of guys, and it was a pleasure to be able to run for them and I’m very thankful to them for being so welcoming of me into the team,” commented William, who had earlier in the night won his opening heat race (his first ever 410 Sprintcar win), finished third in his next heat race and then secured an inside second row start for the feature race when he ran third in the Dash.
“From the beginning, there was no pressure whatsoever to perform put on me by the team, as the goal was to just go out there and have fun, but to be able to enjoy the night that we did was very satisfying.”
The Bohud Racing team’s focus now is on the upcoming Australian 410 Sprintcar Championship on January 26 and 27 at Premier Speedway, Warrnambool in Victoria, where Michael will be returning to the driver’s seat.
“The Australian Championship is one of biggest Sprintcar events on the calendar and we are looking forward to being a part of it for the first time,” enthused Scott Jones.
“Premier Speedway makes for a great Australian Championship location and one of the bonuses for running this event is the recent announcement it will be broadcast live on free-to-air television via channel 7 and the exposure that this will bring for those competing and their supporters.”
