Congratulations to our own Illawarra Stingrays Danika Matos who took out Western Sydney Wanderers - Wanderers Medal - Club Player of the season👏👏👏

Danika re signed with WSWW last month - Very well deserved 🥇

Danika started her professional A League career with the WSWW back in 2019. In the past 3 seasons she has played 53 games in a row and 67 games over 5 years. ❤️🖤

HOWEVER, she started with Stingrays much earlier - aged 12 and is still with us this 2024 season!💗💙

Some of Danika’s stats:
57 touches per game in 2023-24.
passing accuracy of 68%.
She carried the ball 22 times per game covering 2493 metres in total distance.
Delivered 44 crosses.
Involved in 58 shot creating chances, contributing one goal.
Won 79% of her attempted tackles.
37 interceptions.
29 blocks.
38 clearances overall.
Won 50% of her aerial duels.

We finished the term with a BBQ and World Cup mini Tournament- with the ”Ducks” winning the Grand Final. Other teams were very close and we are sure will be chasing victory in Term 2.

This term will be structured slightly different, with the Mighty Mini’s Academy continuing (8-12yo) and a new Youth Academy (13-16yo).
