Last weekend Gilberto Gil & Family closed the second edition of Arena5 with an unforgettable show 🤩 We want to thank everyone involved for giving colour to our summer and for making the month of July one to remember! What a way to close off the ARENA5 stage for the Summer.

Gilberto Gil and his vibrant Brazilian family brought the house down yesterday while the sun was setting over Brussels.

Through the Sorting Kit, we are working together on Arena5 with Fost Plus, Net Brussels and Bruxelles Environnement, to reduce litter and improve waste sorting in the Brussels-Capital Region during events.

With a team called the "Eco-Team", we ensure the cleanliness of the site and make sure that waste is properly sorted. On site you will find 2 types of bins: plastic bins and general waste bins. Please respect and dispose of your waste in the correct bin.

If you cannot find the right bin or need help, please find someone from the Eco-Team in yellow. The waste is also sorted after collection by the Eco-Team if needed. We also have glass and paper containers backstage.

You will also find ashtrays on site (green, on a stand). Please throw your cigarette butts into these ashtrays; and at the same time choose the answer to the survey that you like best!

We also work with reusable cups from Re-uz and Duvel. Don't forget to return them to the bar (on the right at the back) to collect your euro deposit.

Today, it’s Gilberto Gil’s turn to talk about his favourite spot in Brussels. This is what the Brazilian folk hero had to say:

“Although it is quite obvious, I love the Grand Place and consider it one of the most beautiful squares in the world. For its beauty and its atmosphere. The architecture is unique and is so lively with several cafés and restaurants that we could have spent all day there.”

Maybe we’ll find Gilberto at the Grand Place when he’s in Brussels for his performance at Arena5 on 24 July! 😃

Yesterday, Nile Rodgers and CHIC brought the house down at our open-air summer arena! This was definitely a night to remember! Dimitri From Paris will be closing the night for Nile Rodgers & CHIC at Arena5 on 6 July and we asked him what his favourite spot is in Brussels. This is what he had to say:

“I’m a big street food fan, and I’ve been on the hunt in Brussels for the best fried potatoes, which are one of the country’s landmarks. After dozens of Fritkots, I set my choice on Frit’Flagey in the Ixelles neighborhood of Brussels. Located on the big Place Flagey, they are the best in town and the surroundings are great to walk around.” 🍟

Maybe we’ll see Dimitri at Frit’ Flagey after his show at Arena5 😉
