Luis Bellis is a Spanish energetic kid with the body of a 29 year old. Like all kids, he is willing to kindheartedly and playfully test the limits of any context. His moustache however, thrives on twisting that boundary and converting it into something edgy and most of the time stupid, no matter the consequences. Both are destined to keep each other in check during this meaningless bullfight until Luis dies, or decides to shave.

… And that’s another season in the books!

We’re well into July, and Side Splitters Comedy Club has started its well-needed summer break. You will hear from us periodically over the summer, and will be able to come see our shows again as early as September when everyone is back in Brussels!

You may have noticed a few new faces on our team picture - that’s because at the beginning of the year, Gio left the team and the comedy scene, leaving big shoes to fill. The team expanded with the addition of Alyce, Luis, Ariane and Bianca to our ranks, who have all had a great impact already with their showrunning and MCing!

The whole SSC team is proud of what we’ve achieved this season - we’ve continued our mission to host a safe and progressive space to develop comedians at our weekly open mic, the Monday Night Comedy Cave, and at our bimonthly experimental show, Comedy Cave Therapy; we’ve hosted two full-hour specials, and organized multiple successful editions of Brussels Belly Laughs - our monthly showcase which has been sold out more often than not.

A big thank you goes out to all of the comedians for choosing us as their platform and to all of our partners - those who host us (particularly l’Amère à Boire and La Plume Persée ), and those who take pictures for us ( and ).

Last but not least, we should be thanking those who are indispensable to each and every show - our beloved audience members. Your infectious energy and enthusiasm for this scene is the reason we do comedy in the first place. Thank you so much for your support!

We’ve got big things planned next season to further our contribution to a blossoming Brussels comedy scene - so make sure you stay tuned!
