Throwback to August 7th clean up on Burlington Beach with A Greener Future !
With the help of 12 volunteers we collected 2495 pieces of litter!
The top items collected were:
1. Plastic pieces
2. Cigarette butts
3. Paper pieces
Together we prevented litter from getting into our Great Lakes by getting it out of the environment which will prevent harmful risk to wildlife and the ecosystem.
To register a local clean up, please head to our website at:

➡️This event will take place August 24th from 10am to 4pm.
You can enjoy local art, experience an art station, get outside in a beautiful park, and connect with community!
💚This event is keeping the environment in mind by:
🖌️Having 80-90% of art materials and tools for Art Experience Stations be re-used from previous events or have been donated, up cycled or recycled by our community of artists, sponsors and other community partners.
👀Event coordinators will be working closely with artists, sponsors and volunteers to ensure we work as cleanly as we can throughout the day and cleaning up after the event to ensure that the park is left in the same condition we found it in.
✨Using reusable table cloths as well as kraft paper to line our tables and will be using donated sheets as drop sheets.
💧We will limit our use of wash water for hand washing and cleaning brushes for paint/glue and will ensure it is properly disposed of at the end of the day as was also recommended by city staff.
🗑️City staff will be providing additional trash cans and garbage bags for activities area to limit any mess and to assist with clean up. Blue bags will be available and artists, sponsors and volunteers have been asked to separate their waste as much as possible.
Last call to purchase an awesome Sarah Harmer t-shirt while supporting the important work of CORE Burlington! 🌿🌎
🐝Happy World Honey Bee Day!
Although not originally from Canada, Honey Bees have become a vital species to our environment, biodiversity and food security.
Did you know!? Bees have two stomachs - one stomach for eating and one special stomach for storing nectar collected from flowers or water so that they can carry it back to their hive.

We are proud to say that one of BG's very first program's was the BG Youth Network, established at nearly the same time as our organization.
The BGYN has existed for 16+ years & we have helped to inspire THOUSANDS of young people in Burlington through our volunteer events, Youth Eco-Summits, Burlington Transit Youth Ambassador Program, guest speakers, special events and more!
Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are leading TODAY and we are so grateful for all of the priceless contributions they have made to our organization and to the planet over the years.
