Altered is a brand new TCG we've recently fallen in love with at the cafe, and we now have 3 of their starter boxes available in our games library! Rather than battling your opponent, Altered is set in a universe of rich lore and visual design, setting players to explore the landscape of a magically altered Earth!

We really enjoy the way they handle the rarity of cards and their mana system, as well as their unique win conditions and the ability to reserve cards. And while Altered claims to "address the pitfalls that the trading card game market has faced over the last 30 years", our first impression of the game saw the passion they're going for!

Chop your way to victory in Diced Veggies, a game all about collecting colored dice to make delicious foods! Take turns with the cleaver, slicing ingredient dice away from the shared chopping block and assigning them to the recipes you’re working on. You can only take a limited number of pips with each chop, and the right dice values can unlock all sorts of drool-worthy Hypes to boost a recipe's score!

We will be closed on Monday, October 14th for Thanksgiving celebrations and rest!

As we mentioned before, we highly recommend giving Sushi Boat a try. It's an incredible memory game that is incredibly easy to learn!

Each turn, players perform their choice of actions, including taking plates of sushi off the revolving 'belt' on the board, paying staff tiles for effects, buying side dishes, and more.

As you eat, you’ll stack your Plates in front of you. You score points by eating off matching Plates, and for eating a wide variety of sushi types. And you’ll need to pay attention all the time because you never know when someone will start a Wasabi Challenge!

Give it a go next time you visit us! You can find it in our competitive section on the modern wall!

We're in a very food-focused mood today! Newly introduced are 5 new food-related board games, as well as a few competitive card games to give a try! We definitely recommend giving Sushi Boat and Diced Veggies a try; both are incredible games that we had a blast learning last week!
