Dr. Kayla works closely with each patient to understand the root cause of their health concerns. She creates individualized treatment plans that reflect each personโs unique experiences and health goals. Dr. Kayla uses a combination of supplements, acupuncture, botanical medicine, homeopathy, and nutrition and lifestyle suggestions to create a treatment plan tailored to you.
Outside of the clinic you can find Dr. Kayla walking in the woods, playing tennis, hanging out with her pets, and collecting plants.

Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles into specific acu-points, which triggers the body to heal. These points are often at the intersection of blood vessels and nerves, and by needling them, the body sends an immune response to that area, and/or different areas of the body.
This response can lead to an increase in blood flow, oxygen and other molecules that the body uses to create and nurture new tissue. Acupuncture can help with pain, anxiety, sleep disorders, digestive issues, headaches, fertility, and many other issues.

Our deep tissue laser delivers 4 different wavelengths into the area at once (660nm, 800n, 905nm, 970n). These specific red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light are used to induce a photochemical reaction within the damaged cells.
Laser therapy triggers the bodyโs own healing system to deliver water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. At the same time, infrared light increases metabolic activity within damaged cells, increasing the production of ATP and facilitating faster tissue repair. As a result of these cellular changes, laser therapy helps reduce inflammation and spasm, accelerate tissue healing, increase circulation, and eliminate pain.
The treatment is painless, but unlike other forms of laser therapy, you may actually feel the heat from our high-powered deep tissue laser. Laser therapy has been found to be effective in reducing pain and promoting faster recovery for many acute conditions such as ligament sprains, bruising, muscle strains, fractures, and chronic conditions such as tendinopathies, and repetitive strain injuries.

Melissa Arlantico
Physiotherapist, B.Kin
Melissa Arlantico, aka Mel, graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and later obtained her Master of Science (Physiotherapy) at McMaster University.
Born and raised in Vaughan, Ontario, she grew up as a dancer and completed all her Royal Academy of Ballet examinations. Having always been fascinated by how the human anatomy could create such a beautiful and delicate art, yet be so robust to adapt to various activities, or recover from injury or dysfunction โ Melissa pursued physiotherapy. Driven by these interests she has taken courses on neurofunctional acupuncture, dry needling and plans to continue to pursue advanced manual therapy courses with the Orthopedic Division. Melissa also holds an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) position with McMaster Universityโs Physiotherapy Program.
Melissaโs practice is centered around freedom and collaboration. She believes that every individual should be empowered with the knowledge and skills to engage in activities of their choosing and make informed health decisions. She is committed to working with her clients, which means open communication, meaningful goal setting, opportunity to ask questions, and space to share ideas. Her treatment approach encompasses education, exercise and manual therapy techniques and acupuncture, tailored to addressing client-specific concerns and goals.
Outside the clinic Melissa has always enjoyed being active. Whether it be hiking, CrossFit, weight training, spin classes, or a run. As a new Calgarian, sheโs open to her clientโs suggestions for new activities, places to explore, or even new restaurants to check out. She also enjoys a good board game night, cooking and binge-watching TV shows โ so all suggestions are welcome!
