Plain & Fancy✨
This cocktail, the Plain & Fancy was inspired by the Black Manhattan and characterized by its warm inviting flavours. Maker’s Mark welcomes flavours of oak, vanilla, and hazelnut. Complementary flavours are harnessed from the herbaceous and medicinal qualities of Amaro. Lustau East India Solera sherry adds a mollasesey-prune aroma and really brings out the nutty quality of the bourbon. A touch of Courvoisier cognac is added and ties the ingredients together beautifully establishing balance throughout the cocktail. In addition to these key players, angostura bitters, orange bitters, and saline season the drink with beautiful aromas. The glass gets smoked using a torched Maker’s Mark oak Stave and this drink is garnished with an orange expression and twist. The nose of this drink is bright, vibrant, and earthy. This cocktail was named after Jerry Thomas’ book The Bar Tender’s Guide to Mix All Kinds of Plain and Fancy Drinks-
