Historic biodiversity agreement reached at UN conference 12/19/2022

Good to see some progress at COP15

Historic biodiversity agreement reached at UN conference Negotiators reached a historic deal at a UN biodiversity conference early Monday that would represent the most significant effort to protect the world's lands and oceans and provide critical financing to save biodiversity in the developing world.

Ecosystem Services & Biodiversity (ESB) 12/13/2022

The link between biodiversity and ecosystem services is missing in much of the COP15 coverage

Ecosystem Services & Biodiversity (ESB) Ecosystems – living elements which interact with each other and their non-living environments – provide benefits, or services, to the world.

🚨 Rally this Sunday in Guelph!

Photo: Take Action - Tell Premier Ford: Hands Off The Greenbelt!
Sunday December 4th, The Boathouse, 11am - 12 noon

🚫 Big turnout and welcome reception at the doors in Fergus today - voters value the greenbelt and understand it won’t provide the housing we need.

Mike Schreiner said keep the pressure on even if these bills pass - your voice does make a difference!

🚨 We need everyone to help out!

Otherwise expect sharp increase in property taxes and insurance rates, and irreversible destruction of drinking water sources, flood protection and endangered species.

I’d love to do something other than protest this weekend but we can’t sit this one out.

Join fellow Greens and supporters for a province-wide day of action on November 26, as we head out into our communities to engage our neighbours in the campaign to stop Ford’s plan to destroy the and build supersprawl highways. Learn more at gpo.ca/greenbelt

SPECIAL EDITION: The Grateful Eight! 10/25/2022

Terrific recap of the election results, as always

SPECIAL EDITION: The Grateful Eight! And the five new peeps on council.

10/25/2022

🗳 I’m happy with the outcome

I got to know many people that care about each other and Guelph. Support came in many unexpected & wonderful ways.

An unforeseen triple whammy in September meant I didn’t really get started until October - not bad for ~ a month and $1400!

It felt like Erin, Dhruv and I were on the same team so don’t believe what you hear about politics.

Many thank yous to come!

There are a couple of notable disappointments
- We need to level the playing field for a representative council
- Kevin Bowman has some amazing ideas so I hope council listens

10/25/2022

Congrats to the new councillors Erin, Carly, Michele, Linda and Ken - well deserved!

10/25/2022

Anxiously awaiting the results!
