This year we say “see you later” to the seven graduating student-athletes. Each one has truly left their unique mark on the CSS Kelowna program. Their presence will be missed next school year, but we know they will be successful in whatever path they choose.
Wishing them all the best in the next chapter and we hope the memories of CSS Kelowna stay with them wherever they go!
We will miss you!

This week we had our second Sport Psychology Sport Seminars run by Dr. Shaunna Taylor.
One item that stuck out from her first seminar was the concept on mental flexibility vs. mental toughness. Looking at mental health from a different perspective.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Having Dr. Shaunna Taylor share her knowledge and resources with the CSS Kelowna student-athletes allows them to enhance their mental health and add these practices into their daily life 🧠
Fun fact: Dr. Shaunna Taylor is not only a Mental Health Practitioner and Professor of Sport Psychology, but she’s also the Executive Director of PacificSport Okanagan! We’re lucky that she’s able to pop in throughout the year to run these informative sport seminars for CSS 🙌
Thank you, !

Today we were very fortunate to have special guest Jerome Blake visit the Sport School today. Some of you may not know this, but Jerome is a graduate of the CSS-Kelowna program. Since his graduation he has become an Olympic silver medalist and 2022 World Champion in the 4 x 100 Relay, in addition to many other accomplishments outside of sport.
He shared his experiences, lessons learned, and the wisdom he has gathered throughout his professional career thus far, and answered any questions the students had regarding life and sport. The students were buzzing after the experience and ready to launch themselves into the school year and see what they can accomplish as student-athletes and beyond.
THANK YOU for being so generous with your time, you are a true role model for the next generation of athletes. All the best for the coming years, we cannot see where they take you- the opportunities are endless.
