In light of the ACTS announcement on March 26, 2024, we have prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions to provide further clarity on Northwest’s plan to move forward. Head to our website or the link below to see it.

On March 26, 2024, ACTS Seminaries announced its plan to move governance and control of ACTS to Trinity Western University and close the ACTS society effective May 1, 2026. As one of the four partner seminaries in ACTS, we confirm our agreement with the decision and new direction.
This new direction will support Northwest Seminary and College and each consortium member in achieving their unique missions while allowing TWU to open its own School of Theology.
This change does not affect Northwest’s Immerse graduate and undergraduate competency-based theological education (CBTE) programs or its Korean language programs. These programs will remain fully accredited and continue without change.
We look forward to the future as we begin a new chapter in our 90-year institutional history. We remain committed to creatively educate and empower followers of Jesus for joyful service and skilled ministry leadership.
We understand there will be questions. Our top priority is to keep our students and partners informed as this transition progresses, both swiftly and transparently.

The next In the Book event acknowledges the anxiety many people are feeling about environmental changes.
Using Britt Wray’s book Generation Dread as a launching point for analysis and conversation, we will explore the responses to and remedies for such anxiety that she proposes based on her worldview.
You’re invited to participate in this discussion to discover, through interdisciplinary presentations and conversations, ways Christians can engage this complex, at times divisive topic with scripturally-formed wisdom.
This symposium will take place on March 16, 8:30am-12:30pm at the Northwest Seminary and online. The presenters will be Drs. Brian Rapske, Howard Andersen & Larry Perkins, and the respondents will be Dr. Estera Boldut, Dr. Sam Pimentel & Siyá:m Patricia Victor.

Dr. Vern Middleton was a man of adventure, curiosity, and faith-filled passion. Vern and his wife Helen were among the first missionary appointees of Fellowship International, serving the people of India for ten years. When they returned in 1976, Vern Middleton joined the full-time faculty of Northwest and was tasked with developing a missions program for the seminary. He taught Missions, Evangelism, and World Religions, bringing a global concern for the Kingdom to hundreds of his appreciative students. He took students on temple tours, enabling them to understand the world’s religions better, and led students on missions trips, partnering with field missionaries to give students a realistic understanding of life as a missionary. He even brought students into his home, introducing them to the ‘heat’ of Indian food. Vern was strong in recruiting students for mission agencies. To this day, we have alumni serving around the world who were taught by him. Vern was passionate for Northwest and especially for missions, evangelism, and his students. He served at Northwest for 27 years until his retirement in 2003. Join us in celebrating Vern’s life on February 9, via FB livestream at 1:15pm PST. For information, see the link in our bio.
🌍✨As we continue to develop and prepare for the launch of our full suite of undergrad programs, we are working with ABHE (Association of Biblical Higher Education) to make sure we meet their standards of accreditation. We are now one step closer to achieving this thanks to Ruth, Kajle and Carol, who are overseeing the process.
🎓✨Pursuing ABHE accreditation speaks volumes about quality, credibility, and commitment to excellence in education. So, ensuring that our students receive a top-notch education while equipping them for success in their ministry context is what our CBTE model is all about.
Northwest Seminary and College will be hosting a comprehensive accreditation visit by a team of evaluators from the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) from October 24-26, 2023, to determine its compliance with the standards for accreditation. During the visit, representatives of the ABHE team will entertain comments from the public.
Any members of the public interested in making a presentation regarding the College to the team should contact the College at the following telephone number (604-888-7592) or email address ([email protected]) to determine a meeting time. Persons wishing to submit third-party comments related to the institution may send them through the electronic form at https://abhe.formstack.com/forms/3rd_party_comment, or email [email protected], or mail ABHE Commission on Accreditation, 5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Suite 130, Orlando, FL 32822. Persons interested in reviewing the standards for accreditation will find them on the ABHE website at abhe.org.

Today, we acknowledge and stand with residential school survivors and their families. We pray for humility and courage to walk the path of reconciliation intentionally by asking questions and standing with past and present victims of oppression. We remember and seek to learn from our past to become people who do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God and our Indigenous neighbours.
