Veterans Community Outreach Ontario Canada
VCO Ontario, strives to assist Veterans and members of the community experiencing homelessness. We offer Coffee and snacks every Tuesday & Thursday evenings.
We also provide non perishable food to Veterans in need, using a trailer to deliver their home.
Good morning everyone.
We have some bad news to share. After a long period of deliberation and careful thought, the decision has been made to wind down the VCOO. It was not an easy decision, but due to unforeseen issues, it is necessary.
As of yesterday, changes were made to make etransfer of funds impossible going forward. The board will be deciding soon how to disperse the fund’s remaining in our financial account. A full list will be posted here before end of June.
Personally I will miss working with the volunteers each week and meeting those in need in London. I miss delivering food to London Veterans as Dave and I were privileged to do. I wish them all the very best going forward.
Regards
Doug
Happy New Year to all.
As we get set to close out 2023 and ring in 2024, it is only proper to acknowledge those who allowed us to continue to assist those in London who have very little.
So without further ado I wish to publicly thank the following groups:
North Wall Riders Association, Windsor, Ontario
Appin BBQ Service & Catering
Harvest Hands Canada
No Frills
Ortona
House and Backery, Kilworth Ontario
London East Lions Club
Preferred Insurance Agents and Brokers!
UN Nato Niagara Ontario
MC Ontario
And without listing the names of those who sent donations in, thank you each as well.
Without these groups and individuals donating, VCO could not exist.
VCOO like individuals across this province, has seen some financial difficulties, but we believe 2024 will see new projects move forward through the year.
There is a core of volunteers in London, they give up their time weekly to serve the homeless in the old East end, Cheryl, Kim, Dave, Nikki, Lucy, Duane, Karen, Cory, thank you all, without your efforts the program would fail.
We are optimistic that a new outreach in Strathroy, spearheaded by Rob LALONDE , will end up making a real impact for those experiencing homelessness there in that small city.
After all, the main goal has always been, getting Veterans engaged in their own communities. If you are a Veteran and would like to Volunteer in London or Strathroy, please send us a message and we will put you to work helping others.
Happy New Year to all.
It’s the Season of giving, and a special group of people in Windsor Ontario keep giving all year round. I would like to acknowledge North Wall Riders Association, Windsor, Ontario for their continued support financially. Mike and crew donated $1000 dollars. These funds will allow us to buy coffee and food for the homeless in London and Strathroy, for a couple of months.
Thank you all for the support.
May 2024 be a wonderful year for your members.
London Lions Club donated many food items to London area veterans.
I was fortunate to be asked to distribute them.
Thank you Darlene.
Today our Veteran Community in London has lost an amazing wonderful man, Elswood (Jim) passed away in London Hospital.
Jim you will be missed by us.
RIP friend.
Today family and Veterans attended a funeral service for Andrew Blair in London. The service was very moving as family shared many stories about Andrew. Stories provided much insight into him as a young man and as an adult.
I would like to thank his family for sharing those wonderful stories today during a very sad period during which the family is going through.
If anyone would like to make a donation in Andrew memory, Andrew’s mother asked that the donations be made to the Poppy fund. If you are providing a donation please contact the Victory Branch in London Ontario, and they will give you the proper directions on where and how to donate. Thank you.
Rest in Peace Andrew.

Today Veterans gathered to remember those who lost their lives overseas in defence of others.
The event in Windsor Ontario was organized by the North Wall Riders Association, Windsor, Ontario.
It he North Wall Riders have again for the second year donated much needed funds to VCO Ontario.
Thank you to all the members of North Wall Riders Ontario.
Beautiful morning in Watford.
Thank you to@Libro for inviting VCOO.
We are all set up and waiting to meet everyone celebrating Watford’s 150th anniversary.
Good morning everyone.
People often ask: how can ”we” help VCO? What do Veterans in our area need? How much does it cost to provide food which is distributed weekly?
I would like to provide the answers to the questions above.
The best way for people to help is, to provide support weekly by e-transfering $5 dollars every week. $5 dollars per individual does not seem all that important at first glance, but if everyone who is “ following “ our page donated $5 per week, VCO would be fully funded and able to provide much needed support to Veterans in London and other locations.
The Veterans who we serve need any and all non perishable food items similar to items e have in our own homes. Beans, pasta, tomatoe products, vegetables, tuna, peanut butter, juice, crackers, etc
To purchase needed items at current store prices, is close to $700 dollars per week based on our current number of recipients. When the fall cold weather returns we will need a extra $150 per week to help fund our Homeless Projects.
We are pleading with all that follow VCOO on Facebook, to consider becoming a $5 dollar weekly supporter. If we all do a little, much can be accomplished.
Thank you one and all.
Thank you CAV Ortona members who donated $1000.00 in grocery gift cards tonight.
Thank you to the Lions (Dorchester Ontario) for inviting VCO Ontario to their fundraiser, thank you to Ted Huntington and his lovely spouse for their efforts and donations, we were blessed to receive around $600.00 tonight in donations from silent auction and small cash donations.
Thank you to all who supported the event tonight.
We are pleased to pass this message on to the public.
Hello everyone, this is David McIntyre UN-NATO VETERANS group and my beautiful lady Lynn Morton AKA red.
Last year we held an event,
Thunder river bike fest.
This is our 2nd annual bike fest being held at welland fair grounds 1100 Niagara street welland Ontario.
Last year we raised $30,000 for 7 local charities, un-nato veteran's group donated our share to operation leave the streets behind trying to help our local veterans. This year we are donating to veteran's community out reach.a veteran's group that operates out of London Ontario and other cities across Canada .
This group takes homeless veteran's off the streets and gives them the help they need and opens the doors to other veteran programs that are available. This is a call to ALL Veteran's and all veteran groups and clubs to come out to thunder River bike fest and let's pull together and help our brothers. Currently there are 25 homeless veteran's in the Niagara area who are in need of our help, this is a call to arm's let's get them the help they deserve
Because we are, are brothers keepers.
