Ridge Meadows Hospice Society
We are here to provide compassion and support programs to those facing death, dying, grief and loss.
We have had a tremendous response to our request for volunteers and interviews are taking place now! We share two very special pictures that capture the essence of volunteering at hospice and in grief and loss programs.
LOVE 🩷-Yes the role is challenging and sometimes very sad, but what is also there is the love and hope we get to witness and people and relationships we are honored to support. The memorial book at Hospice is full of stories of love, gratitude and memories and we are grateful to have served those families for a short time.

Several B.C. musicians will be gathering in Maple Ridge this summer to perform classic songs – with a twist – and it’s all for a good cause.
The second annual summer concert in support of the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society is returning to the outdoor amphitheatre at the Albion Community Centre, once again being spearheaded by Maple Ridge performer Derek Barnett.
A total of five musicians will be participating in the fundraising concert, including returning performers Barnett, Holly Krauchi, Su Claire, and Angela Bell. Newcomer Bianca Salazar will also be a part of this year’s concert.
Throughout the afternoon, they will be performing a wide range of songs inspired by Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, which reworks popular songs to fit the stylings of swing, jazz, ragtime, and other retro genres.
All of the proceeds from this show will go to the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society, with two different showings being offered on Sunday, July 7.
The first concert will take place at 12:30 p.m., with a short break between the two performances before the second one at 3 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $13 and can be purchased at shakeitupents.wixsite.com/shakeitup.

🩵🌿 Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for Hike for Hospice today. The weather didn't stop us from coming together to walk in memory of someone, honor our grief and loss, and celebrate the very important work of hospice/palliative care. Stay tuned for a special gratitude and thank you post tomorrow for all our team, sponsors, and supporters who made the day possible.
We really love this honest quote from a recent group participant. It takes a lot of courage to reach out and ask for support when you are going through a significant loss. Many people don't "want to come", and of course we completely understand that feeling.
🩵 If you are experiencing a life-limiting illness, caregiving for someone, or experiencing grief and bereavement we are here to support you.
🩵 Please reach out to 604-463-7722 for more information

Our services continue
We are STILL accepting referrals from our community partners, patients and families, and from individuals for grief and palliative support. Currently ALL support continues to be offered via telephone, or video meeting, and this will be determined through the program coordinators on an individual basis. We are currently looking at our one to one counselling and how we will move forward. For now we are continuing with modified/virtual support groups which have been very successful to date! Please stay connected and reach out.
