He’s an Australian-trained physiotherapist with experience in elite level soccer, football and basketball. Alex loves keeping active and travelling, but what he loves most? Helping his patients with detailed and attentive care.

Alex has settled into working with a predominantly athletic population ranging from weekend warriors to professional athletes. His passions have grown to surround acute injury management and post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation.

His treatment philosophy emphasizes collaborating with people to keep them doing what they love while supporting them throughout their rehabilitation and promoting self-efficacy.

Does your therapist stay up to date with the most current research?

The study of therapy and performance is a relatively new field, and has undergone considerable change in the last decade. Below are just some of the changes in protocols to various injuries:

▶️ low back pain? Rest it and bend forward ➡️ core retraining, spinal mobility

▶️ Achilles rupture? Surgery ➡️ No statistical difference in outcomes between surgery and non-surgical

▶️ ACL Surgery? Immobilization for 4 weeks ➡️ early mobilization as early as day 2

▶️ Tendon Injury? Therapeutic ultrasound and rest ➡️ progressive loading program and no research to support ultrasound use

The purpose of research is to inform action. Make sure your therapist is taking the right action to make sure you're getting back to your best as quick as possible
