Happy mammogramming!!!
Trying to make it as easy as possible for you all!!
Happy mammogramming!!!!
These are not part of the diagnostic criteria HOWEVER these are common occurrences in individuals with ADHD
These types of situations are often what lead ADHDers to also have anxiety and depression because they think they are not as good as others, or it seems so much harder that others make it look - especially in u diagnosed females we see all of these issues focus onward and there is a reduction in self confidence
Education re really matters here - by learning how your unique brain works we can really prevent a lot of negative self talk and low self confidence
ADHD can honestly be an impressive superpower - we just need to learn how to harness it!!
It’s so much more than being ‘fidgety’ or not being able to focus….
**Generalization** of course some girls/women can be hyperactive and some boys/men can be more inattentive.
My point is there are s*x differences, and this causes misdiagnosis because we assume everyone presents the same way…which is not true….
Extra note: most neurotypical people don’t ever wonder if maybe they have ADHD….if you are thinking you do it’s probably worth an assessment!!
Some other possible symptoms of burnout include:
⚡️difficulty focusing or concentrating
⚡️disorganization
⚡️forgetfulness
⚡️physical symptoms like hair loss, weight changes, digestive issues
⚡️emotional symptoms like aggression, maliciousness, cynicism, sarcasm

Let’s talk about the adrenal fatigue - the mystical unicorn of health myths. 🦄✨Spoiler alert: it’s not real. Yup, you heard me! 😬
Popping supplements like magic beans to ‘support your adrenals’ and trying to out supplement your way through…is unfortunately not the answer.
What is probably true is you are in some stage of burnout- which is a diagnosable condition- but guess what you also can’t supplement your way out of burnout…
Your poor little adrenal glands aren’t tired - you are.
Getting support and managing your burnout and recovering is totally possible! Strategy is key….and probably some more protein 😉
Implementing these strategies can help you cultivate a healthier, more positive relationship with social media that enhances your life rather than detracts from it.
You won’t like hearing this…but…. to the parents of teens: if you are asking them to do this but aren’t doing it yourself…you won’t get very far….
Our talk has got to match our walk when it comes to supporting our teens healthy habits!
Cervical screening programs have significantly reduced the risk of cervical cancer in many populations.
Here are some screening facts to know:
🌸people with a cervix aged 21-39 benefit from screening with a routine PAP every 3 years; they also benefit from HPV screening
🌸people with a cervix under aged 21 do not benefit from routine screening with a PAP test
🌸people with a cervix aged 39-65 benefit from routine PAP screening every 3yrs and HPV screening
🌸people with a cervix over 65 do not benefit from routine screening
🌸cervix owners with a negative HPV test have a very low likelihood of progressing to cervical dysplasia within 5years
Get your screening! Are you due for yours?
(**Naturopathic doctors in Ontario can provide PAPs for patients in need of one**)
Key Take-aways:
1) these 2 conditions have distinct symptoms AND therefore treatments
2) Proper assessment is KEY - frequently these conditions get misdiagnosed and mistreated - therefore becoming a chronic long- standing health concern and reduction in quality of life.
3) it’s also normal to at one point in your life have this happen if you are a v***a/vagina owner - it’s not your fault, and it doesn’t mean your hygiene practices or anything like that are the problem!! Don’t let anyone shame you for experiencing a totally common experience that v***a owners will encounter
Checking in with what may be in the way of your sleep can be a helpful first step!
1) as silly as it may sound - how does your room make you feel? Do you like it? Does it make you feel stressed? Is it comfortable? This is important! Ideally your bedroom is a calm space you enjoy being in.
2) keeping your room cool at night is ideal for improved sleep quality. Ideally 65F/18C
3) If you are under fuelled, especially if low on the protein during the day- it can reduce your quality of sleep
4) were you awake long enough (14-16hrs) and did you move your body enough to actually feel sleepy??
5) Did your brain have enough time to think through ALL the things - especially if falling asleep is hard or getting back to sleep is hard for you because your brain can’t keep quiet- consider setting aside time in the day to give your brain the chance!
Happy sleeping!!!
Life transitions can really impact our sleep...
*perimenopause
*teenage-hood
*parenthood
*stressful life event
and the list continues.....
Sleep also is the core of maintaining health and actually helping us through those transitions....
💤 Women are more impacted than men
💤 Insomnia impacts up to 50% of the population - GLOBALLY!
if you are not getting the recommended 8hrs the consequences impact all aspects of health and well-being
💤 AND only 40% of primary care providers ask and educate on sleep...in our primary care setting sleep support is under-assessed and under-managed.
Not sleeping can hold you back from your health goals
How is your sleep??
Sleep just needs a strategy - sleep is within you...even though currently you may feel like it's not

Empowering through Knowledge: ❤️Understanding Perimenopause 💪🏻
1️⃣ Embrace the change: yes this is a natural phase - no that doesn’t mean ignore anything - but knowing what to expect helps you navigate this journey with confidence
2️⃣ Health is wealth: recognizing symptoms and changes is crucial for maintaining overall well being and understanding where in this transition you are. From mood changes to hot flashes, understanding the ins and outs of it empowers you to prioritize self-care and seek the support you need.
3️⃣Destigmatize the conversation: by fostering open discussions, we creat a supportive community where women can share experiences, be HEARD, seek advice and get what they need to feel empowered by this change and not run down by it.
TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!
At 7pm YMCA is hosting me for a free workshop on Perimenopause
