Hello Coffee Group Friends,

I hope you have had a wonderful summer! I wanted to reach out to you about a couple of things. Normally, we start back up with our welcome back potluck on September 10th - but as many of you know, Trinity's Apple Pie project will be using the kitchen. There is also a section of the Fellowship Hall that is blocked off while repairs to the floor are being done - which prevents easy access to the kitchen. So, with all that taking place, I would like to suggest that we start "officially" with the welcome back potluck on Tuesday September 17th!

Terry messaged a few of you yesterday about the pie project. There has been an invitation to the group to help out with the project if you wish! See below for the information! It was suggested by Terry that those who wish, could come and help with spice bags on Tuesday September 3rd and with Pie Bottoms on Tuesday September 10th. If you are willing to help on those days, or any of the other days they are looking for help please let me know or contact Darlene (the apple pie lady) directly! Thanks - see you on the 17th!

Here are the dates and times for the pie project if you are able to help! Snacks and tea/coffee will be served!

Sept 3,4 & 5 from 9-1230 to assemble spice and pastry bags. Sept 9,10,11 from 9-1230 to make pie bottoms

Hello All - I hope you've been having a lovely summer! In a couple of weeks, the coffee group will be back! I am just finalizing the schedule for the first couple of months - should be ready shortly!

Our first official Tuesday begins with a potluck on Tuesday September 10th. Pie bottoms are also being prepared that day, so it will be a busy place!

Speaking of pies, Darlene, our apple pie coordinator, has asked me to reach out to the coffee group to see if anyone is willing to help out with preparing spice bags for the pies on Tuesday September 3rd. If willing, please leave a message here or email her at [email protected]

Unfortunately, the Canadore Students are not available to meet with the group this week. This will be rescheduled until later in the season. Fortunately, Terry and Laura have offered to do a cooking session with the group - Sweet and Sour Meatballs! (Thanks Terry and Laura!)

I will be starting to fill in the rest of the season's schedule this upcoming week. If you have a suggestion of something you'd like to see on the schedule, please let me know!

Hello Coffee Group Friends. I am writing to share the news of Coffee Group member Kathy McGinn's husband Mike a few days ago. His funeral takes place on Thursday. See below for the message from Kathy.

Please join me in offering sympathy and prayers to Kathy, Kim and family on Mike's death.

It is with heartbreak that I want to let you know that Mike passed away peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Thursday evening .(Nov. 9/23)

Those who are interested in attending a visitation on Thursday November 16, 2023 from 6-8 pm or attend via live stream, please find details at Hillside Funeral Home (www.hillsidefuneral.ca - 705 474 7655).

Hello all,
Sorry for the last minute notice, but Rod will not be joining us tomorrow. He has moved out of North Bay and had planned on returning to speak to the group - but will not be in town this week. I will reschedule him. Conversation and snacks are on for tomorrow. Maybe brainstorm a list of ideas/activities/speakers you'd like to see in the new year? I do have a video tgat we watched a number of years ago "laughing through stress". I'll bring it in in case the group wants to watch something!

Hello Coffee Group Friends! I hope you've had a great summer so far. I am starting to work on a schedule of activities/presenters for the fall. If you had any special requests or suggestions, please feel free to share them with me. Tomorrow for coffee group there will be a strawberry social! See you then :)I'm not entirely sure what that means - but I imagine it involves strawberries, tea and some nice things to eat :)
I just realized that it also looks like it is the final meeting of the season at Trinity! I know throughout the summer the group continues to meet for coffee and friendship at various locations but we will miss hearing your laughter and joy at the church until September!

Hello all - Amber from your downtown is coming tomorrow to chat about a couple new businesses and update about the construction project. Following the meeting, anyone who wants to take a short tour is welcome. That part will be optional and take place after the meeting.

This upcoming Tuesday we will be joined by Erin Honeysett who is the Community Engagement Officer for the North Bay Police. She will talk about Fraud and internet/phone safety as her main topic.

The following week March 26th, we will be joined (for real this time - regardless of weather) by Rod Carley - author and local celebrity.

And on April 4th will be the fancy Easter tea - more details about that will be sent in a separate email.

Hello All - I mistakingly said this week's speaker has cancelled - I got my week's mixed up. Our speaker for this Tuesday - Carrie from Connected Care IS COMING. It is the following week the speaker is unable to come. Sorry about the confusion!!!
