HCDSB proudly hosted the CCP 10th Annual Forum, a remarkable gathering focused on "Family of Services Supporting Newcomer Families in Peel and Halton." Over 120 passionate participants came together, including dedicated settlement workers serving our vibrant youth community. Together, we're building a supportive network for newcomers, fostering connections, and creating pathways for a brighter future.

Blue Monday is apparently the saddest day of the year. It falls on the third Monday of the year - in 2023, that makes it Monday, January 16th. Interesting fact: Blue Monday originated as a marketing strategy by Dr. Cliff Arnall (Psychologist) to assist travel agencies to sell holiday travel packages!
It’s common for Canadians to suffer the “winter blues” especially with the daylight ending during the early evening hours and of course, the cold winter weather. But together, we can beat the “Monday/Winter Blues” by following the 10 easy steps (listed below). Let’s make this winter season a positive and enjoyable one! 😊

Burlington - WE-ALL Newcomer Orientation Day at Corpus Christi Secondary School. The We All (Welcoming and Embracing All) is part of the Settlement Program funded by IRCC in partnership with the HCDSB, designed to prepare students for their new journey into high school. ESL Teachers and Settlement Workers from HMC and HCDSB along with Peer Leader students have worked very hard to ensure our newcomer students learn about the school system while having fun and connecting with senior newcomer students.
