You enjoy singing and you can read music? The University of Ottawa Choir, a bilingual adult choir affiliated with the School of Music, is looking for basses and tenors for its winter semester (January to April 2024). For our spring concert, we will be singing Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Vivaldi’s Gloria with a chamber orchestra. Please contact us to schedule an audition in early January!

Félicitations aux gagnants du Concours de musique de chambre 2023 de l’École de musique! 👏🎶

The quartet formed by Justin Azerrad-Kendall, Sara Göbel, Ryan Vis and Abigail Greenland took 1st Prize with their performance of the Grieg String Quartet no. 1. An Honorable Mention was awarded to Amanda Jensen, Vinci Chen and Caitlin Strong for their performance of Gaubert’s “Aquarelles”.

Toutes nos félicitations aux différentes chorales, aux musiciens, aux intervenants, et à Laurence Ewashko, le chef des chœurs, pour leur chaleureuse offrande musicale de Noël ce mercredi ! Nos remerciements les plus sincères à tous les donateurs pour leur générosité (en ligne, et à l’entrée). Ensemble, nous avons pu réunir 1169$ en faveur de la banque alimentaire pour les étudiants de uOttawa.

Congratulations to all the choirs, musicians and readers and to our conductor Laurence Ewashko for performing in another heartwarming Musical Offering for Christmas on Wednesday! And thank you to all who gave generously online and at the door – together we raised over $1,169 to be donated to the uOttawa Student Food Bank.

Le pianiste Henry Kramer, médaillé d’argent au Concours Reine-Elizabeth et professeur à l’Université de Montréal, donnera une classe de maître samedi à 13:30!

Nous avons le plaisir d’annoncer que Kelsea Hopkins a remporté le premier prix de la 2023 SOCAN competition — Chamber Ensemble Under 21 — avec son morceau “Biographical Sounds”. Kelsea est actuellement une élève de Frédéric Lacroix, et a par ailleurs étudié la composition avec John Armstrong et Kelly-Marie Murphy. Toutes nos félicitations, Kelsea !

We are pleased to announce that Kelsea Hopkins has won a prize in the 2023 SOCAN competition — Chamber Ensemble Under 21 — for her piece “Biographical Sounds”. Kelsea is currently a student of Frédéric Lacroix and has studied composition also with John Armstrong and Kelly-Marie Murphy. Congratulations Kelsea!
