Hello all District 1 members!!

I just wanted to send out a quick update so we are all up to speed on things happening in our Association.

Firstly, big THANK YOU to Renie Schnitzler for her many years spent representing District 1. Her voice made for so much positivity in our District.

Nikki Storbakken and Bailey Gardner are your current District 1 provincial directors. Please feel free to contact both of us with any questions or concerns. Our preference going forward is to create a group message/text so we are both in the loop. This includes, jackpot requests, questions and concerns.

Please familiarize yourself with the rules in the SBRA, you can find them on the website.

New For 2024 Provincial finals Qualifying:
A motion was made at the AGM to allow members to attend 2 jackpots on Saatchewan soil and be able to pay $50 per jackpot per horse for up to four jackpots to qualify for finals.
(ie. If you attend two sask. Soil jackpots you can pay $200 to buy your Finals qualification.)

Also, the distance between jackpots in District is 100km for same day jackpots.

Attention SBRA members:

As a member of the association it is important to familiarize with the rules we have. Renie and I wanted to mention a couple rules that our members need to be reminded of:

1. If you are 18 years of age and under, you MUST wear your helmet at ALL times during the SBRA event while on your horse. This includes during time onlies.

2. You MUST have a SBRA membership to be riding a horse at a SBRA sanctioned event. This includes warming up horses for others, doing time onlies, and no babies/toddlers are allowed to be on the back of a horse. This is to protect you in the event if an accident.

3. As long as a jackpot host has made the members aware and all rules are listed for the event, these rules have been APPROVED.

Our D1 qualified members will be running for a pretty nice payout! Open will pay to 5th and Youth will pay to 2nd.

Please remember this is a full western dress code weekend 🤠. 18 and under must wear helmets while on horseback.
