This is what community is all about. Thank you to Jeannie's Kitchen & Catering for coordinating, cooking and donating these Christmas meals. Thank you to all her customers who also donated a meal for those in need. Thank you to Shelly Grover who also cooked up a storm to make it happen.
FCSS staff and friends were lucky enough to hand deliver these meals.
Thank you to everyone in the town and county of Stettler for your continued support for our community.
Best holiday wishes to all.

We will be in Stettler with Stettler Family & Community Support Services on November 30th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, for a Tenant Rights and Responsibilities Presentation, as well as a Photo ID Affidavit Clinic and Ask-A-Lawyer!

The Tenant Rights and Responsibilities Presentation will be from 1pm to 2pm, and then the Photo ID Affidavit and Ask-A-Lawyer will take place from approximately 2pm to 4pm.

We're offering free photo ID affidavits that can help to access local supports like food banks if your ID has been lost or stolen. Please note, these do not replace Government IDs and will not be accepted in all situations.

And Ask-A-Lawyer allows individuals to meet with a lawyer for a 20 to 30 minute one-on-one session to receive brief legal advice at no charge. Walk-in only, first come, first served.

For more information please reach out to the Community Legal Clinic at (403) 314-9129, or toll-free at 1 (877) 314-9129.

WINTER ITEMS
We are collecting warm winter gear for our most vulnerable population. Although our weather has been fairly mild lately, it is Alberta and the cold weather won't be too far away and so we are in need of mitts, toques, socks, and warm winter coats.
Donations can be dropped off at FCSS 4720-50 Street
Thank you for helping our community!

It is so important to choose kindness and compassion, every day.

A small act of kindness can make a huge impact on someone; whether it’s simply lending them a notebook or pencil, helping them carry something, or just actively listening to someone who needs it. There are so many ways you can show kindness, and it can truly make a difference.

“Be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody.”

Journalling for Self Awareness: https://recoverycollegecentralalberta.ca/course/journalling-for-self-awareness/

Come write with us! We all hear about the therapeutic benefit of journalling. Do you have trouble getting started before the floodgates of emotion and healing run onto the page? No problem! We use prompts and time for self-reflection in a safe, welcoming space for you and your emotions. Everything remains optional if it feels right to you to pursue. You may be surprised what you uncover in your words.

Register here for Creative Writing for Wellness:
https://recoverycollegecentralalberta.ca/course/creative-writing-for-wellness/

Come write with us! No experience is required. Writing is good for your brain and wellness. We will spend time writing based on prompts from poetry, literature, pictures, or sounds. Then we will listen to each other’s writing (reading what you wrote is optional, of course) and highlight the strengths and creativity displayed by our fellow writers. This group is for adults and is open to all levels of writing. Everyone can create!

Hey Families! The Family Resource Network is hosting a clothing swap on October 28th. As the season shifts into colder weather, now is a great time to pass on last years items that your kiddos have grown out of and pick up some better fitting gear! We'll also be swapping adult clothes too, so clean out those closets and drop off your gently used and good condition items to the FRN by Thursday, October 26.
