Meta has broadened its Fraud Intelligence Reciprocal Exchange (FIRE) program by partnering with NatWest and Metro Bank to combat rising online fraud. Additional banks are expected to join soon. The partnership allows banks to share crucial information with Meta, which will use it to enhance its systems' ability to detect and prevent scams.

Microsoft recently revealed plans to launch the Recall feature for the Windows Insider Program. This feature will be exclusively available on Copilot+ PCs running Windows 11. However, the company has not provided details on when the AI feature might be released more widely.

Analemma Tower is a groundbreaking concept developed by the Manhattan-based firm Clouds Architecture Office. Inspired by the principles of a traditional space elevator, this innovative design envisions a skyscraper suspended from a man-made asteroid orbiting Earth at 50,000 km, far above the International Space Station. The tower's spire would reach an astounding 32,000 meters above sea level, surpassing the cruising altitude of planes.

The asteroid, anchored in space, would allow the tower to hover over its intended location, Manhattan. The building would be constructed in Dubai, known for its expertise in skyscraper construction at a fraction of the cost compared to the U.S., before being transported to its final destination.

The firm explains that "by placing a large asteroid into orbit, a high-strength cable can be lowered towards Earth, allowing a super-tall tower to be suspended." This unique approach enables the tower to be built anywhere in the world and then relocated.

Researchers from Palo Alto Networks Unit 42, including Vishwa Thothathri, Uday Pratap Singh, Yijie Sui, Anmol Maurya, and Brad Duncan, have revealed details about the DarkGate malware campaign. Since 2018, DarkGate has operated as a malware-as-a-service (MaaS) and was distributed via Microsoft Excel files in March-April this year. The malware's most concerning aspect is its use of sophisticated techniques to avoid detection, and it continually evolves to develop new evasion methods.

In an internal memo, Microsoft informed its employees in China that Android devices will soon be banned in the office. By September 2024, all staff members will be required to switch to iPhones, which will be provided by Microsoft. This decision comes in response to recent data breaches and a critical report from the U.S. government highlighting security flaws.

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, experienced a cyberattack in 2023, but chose not to publicly announce it. The company reported that neither its source code nor customer data were compromised. Employees were informed of the incident during an internal meeting. Additionally, ChatGPT unintentionally disclosed all its instructions to a user who just greeted it with "Hi."
