For more information, see the post below.

Are you interested in helping the Breaking Barriers* research team put into practice messages that can improve the hearing healthcare journey for British Columbians? We are looking for volunteers this summer to help us design interventions tailored to primary care providers, which will be done over two virtual planning meetings. The key messages of the intervention that we are designing will come from the previous stages of the project: a literature review, survey, and focus groups.

For more information, please reach out to [email protected]

“Breaking Barriers” is a research project being conducted by the UBC School of Audiology and Speech Sciences in partnership with the Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility. The goal of this project is to support primary care providers to be instigators of change for their patients with hearing loss.

If you provide early intervention services to children 0-6 years of age who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing in BC, please consider participating in this survey!

We are recruiting participants for a research study: “Perspectives from Service Providers on Culturally Safe Early Intervention Services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Children and their Families in British Columbia”. We want all families to receive the best early intervention services for their d/Deaf and hard of hearing children. The findings from this study will help us to better understand what is working well and what is not so we can continue to improve early intervention services in our province.

Early intervention service providers who currently serve children 0-6 years of age who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing in BC, or have you done so within the last three years are eligible to participate. The survey may take 45 minutes to complete. Participants can enter a prize draw to win an iPadOS 16 64GB.

See flyer (https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b0ZzmD0pIagaBfg) for a brief description of the study. You will also find a link to the consent form and the online survey that participants can take.
