🛶From exciting beach volleyball matches to peaceful kayaking and a grand finale with dancing, great food, and a meaningful beach cleanup—this event truly had it all.🏐

Hey, new UCW students! Can you believe that New Student Orientation (NSO) is less than three days away!? 🤩
 
We have some information about virtual NSO for the Fall 2024 Term happening on Monday, September 23 to Wednesday, September 25, and the optional on-campus activities on Thursday, September 26.🗓️
 
⭐️ As a reminder, the first three days are all virtual. No need to come to campus! We do have optional on-campus, in-person activities scheduled for Thursday, September 26 from 9 am to 4:30 pm. If you want to participate in that, you will need to register beforehand. And we highly recommend it, it is a lot of fun!
 
This is your NSO checklist:
✔️ Log into the MyUCW Student Portal
✔️ Read the full NSO schedule
✔️ Register for in-person activities (optional, but a fun way to meet your new classmates and know your campus)
✔️ Complete the NSO 098 Course Module quiz (not optional, the deadline is October 11 at 11:59 pm PT)
 
‼️Some other reminders:
- Make sure you have high-speed internet to attend NSO. Please note that campus is not a place to do so.
- If you are having issues logging into the portal, please email [email protected] for further assistance.
- Last but not least, we are so happy to have you at UCW! Welcome to the UCW Community! 😄

We’ll be screening Episode 1: The Beginning and Episode 6: Calls to Action to help foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous experiences and the ongoing journey toward Truth and Reconciliation.📙
 
After the screening, Indigenous Elder Calvin Swustus will guide a discussion and answer pre-screened questions. It’s a great chance for staff and students to come together, honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and explore how we can all contribute to a more just future.💫

With a distinguished judging panel representing geographical and professional diversity, the PIEoneer Awards recognize both individuals and organizations who are pushing professional standards, evolving their engagement or redefining the international student experience.
