Students presented their client projects and reflected on the process as part of their Projects II course.
Projects II is an independent, semester-length team-based project working with an external client and/or collaborators. Students learn, experience, and execute iterative processes through team collaboration and prototype/proof of concept delivery.
The Pre-MDM students presented their final project simulations with the goal of creating an interactive co-op game to engage families with children in learn-through-play about the Indigenous contribution at Fort Langley.
The Pre-MDM simulated projects are based on practical tasks and involve field trips, role-playing clients, essential organizations, and cultural or historical landmarks while taking students through a realistic and agile project structure. This promotes teamwork, agile values, and enhances their verbal and non-verbal communication skills and pitching potential.

Our Story
* The MDM application deadline is February 15th.
The Master of Digital Media (MDM) is Canada’s first professional graduate program in digital media. Offered at the Centre for Digital Media in Vancouver BC, this intensive program with internship engages students in real world projects and coursework that provides valuable leadership experience, training, and top industry connections.
The MDM Program is a 12-month, plus internship, full-time professional Master's degree program. The program's curriculum is uniquely designed to meet new and expanding digital media markets. Guided by top-level faculty and industry mentors, students work closely with clients and peers on team-based, industry-supported projects. Graduates have the know-how and confidence to work at the highest level in the industry as creators, producers, innovators, or entrepreneurs.
MDM students and alumni come from around the globe, and from a wide range of disciplines, including the arts, social sciences, business, computer science, and engineering. Working in small teams, students collaborate on intensive, four-month projects – often with industry clients. Past clients have included top companies in the industry, including Electronic Arts, Autodesk, Microsoft, and Telefonica, as well as government and non-profit organizations. For some graduates, industry projects have turned into successful start up ventures that range in specialization from interactive advertising technology to mobile games to games for social networks.
The MDM is conferred by The University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Each of the Centre for Digital Media's partners brings unique insight to the program and value to students. MDM grads are alumni of all four institutions.
