The AUS is opening up our second round of Committee appointments for the summer term! We’re looking for passionate students to fill out student-at-large positions within AUS Committees, which are deliberative bodies that govern specific aspects of the AUS. 📊📋

We have openings for Arts students to join the Arts Caucus and or the Operations Committee! If you’re interested in liaising with UBC bodies to advance Arts students’ voices or if you’re passionate about operational work and sustainability initiatives, join these Committees!

AUS Committees meet monthly online, which is essential in supporting the Society’s operations. Apply to be one of our Student-at-Large members so you can be part of Committee discussions and keep the AUS accountable to students. ✨

⏰ Fill out the RSVP form in our bio by Wednesday, July 31, 12:00 PM (Noon) PST if you’re interested in being appointed, where you will find more details about eligibility requirements, each Committee’s composition, and general responsibilities!

🗓️ Attend AUS Council via Zoom on Wednesday, July 31, at 7 PM PST, where you will be invited to deliver a 90-second speech on why you want to join the Committee.

Meet Emma He (she/her), the Merch Director in the AUS Engagement Portfolio of the AUS! Emma was nominated by Aakriti Kallianpur, the VP of the Engagement Portfolio.

“”I’m nominating Emma because she is so sweet, reliable, organized, and professional. We have worked together for two years now and getting to know her has been a privilege. Since day one, she has put so much hard work and energy into her roles in the merch department. All of our AUS merch this year is thanks to her dedication to corresponding with merchandising companies, managing budget, setting up merch bundles, and arranging pickups with members from other portfolios. She brings new ideas and a positive attitude to the table and I’m so grateful that she is a director this year because Merch isn’t Merch without her.

Meet Kelly Leung (she/her), the Bookings Administrator in the Administration Portfolio of the AUS! Srijan was nominated by Kaysan Adriyanto, the VP of the Administration Portfolio.

“Kelly is a hardworking and diligent volunteer that plays a vital role in the Administration Portfolio’s Operations Department. As our Bookings Administrator, Kelly processes bookings requests and liaises with event organizers to help them secure a venue to host their amazing events at our home on campus, the Arts Student Centre. Although her role is mostly done behind-the-scenes, Kelly has always been a dependable team player that the AUS can rely on! If you’ve organized an event at the ASC, you’re more than familiar with Kelly — she’s there to help every step of the process.
