I am feeling incredibly grateful and honored to see my artwork in the Inner Harbor, Indigenous Artists on the causeway. Being able to see my hummingbird design on the light posts down there brought back to reminiscing about sitting down there as a teenager. Me and my brothers and I would keep our Grandma MJ company while she sold her beautiful beadwork during the summer months. It is surreal to see my artwork beside others like my grandpa Butch, Cousins Melissa, Lajah Warren, and Darlene Gait. If you get a chance, head down to the causeway and take in the beautiful artwork.
You may see some artwork down at the causeway that features art work by Me, grandpa Butch Dick, Cousin Melissa Jean McClurg, Friend Lajah Warren John and Darlene Gait
First Nations in the Harbour - GVHA Through many initiatives, we encourage both Esquimalt and Songhees Nations to utilize the natural resources of GVHA properties.
I am brimming with gratitude to have had the privilege of opening the BC Lions Game today with our protocol. Despite feeling anxious and uncertain, I persevered, drawing strength and wisdom from my grandfather Skip's encouragement. Reflecting on my journey, I have evolved from offering brief welcomes to avoid prolonged stays to taking time to honor our history, culture, and the courage to sing and ground myself and others. I express my heartfelt gratitude to my family and community for their unwavering support and guidance, inspiring me to continue this meaningful work even in the face of fear.

Starting tomorrow and going till Friday, you can find me at as one of many vendors for the The S’TEṈISTOLW̱ Conference being held by .indigenous this week
Feeling inspired by Sweet Grass by Heather Stewart beaded lava lamp ghostie earrings, I just had to sketch a formline design based on their creation! 😍👻
Doing some research and getting more inspiration for some designs I am working on and I am getting emotional and remembering when our baby bear was born 🥹😭❤
I remember we were in the operating room for the emergency c-section, I was feeling scared, worried and wished i could have my moms and aunties there. But we were still in the height of the pandemic and regulations so it was just me and Gordy Bear. Just as they were starting the procedure I asked Gordy to sing for me, for our baby as he was coming into the world; holding my hand he sang which calmed me as we waited for baby bear to come and by the fourth set our lil bear came safely
I can't help but feel surprised and grateful when I get to see the finished items my artwork gets to be on. While at Fort Rodd Hill for Qexmin harvesting with the Lekwugen Language team, I got the chance to see my design on an audio box that will be going up in the near future. Pictured are killer whales and the lighthouse. As you can see, I was smiling ear to ear to see my artwork on the finished product. Hychka, for trusting my artistic vision with this piece and showing me the finished product Fort Rodd Hill team 🙌🏽💜🥹

From my dear friend Kim Runely for Marlo
Lets Help Marlo Kick Cancers butt!!
In late July Marlo found a lump in her left breast and went to primary urgent care and was referred to the breast health clinic in Kamloops. She couldn’t be seen until August 23 and didn’t want to wait any longer so she went to Van.
By August 21 she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (Stage 3 triple positive invasive ductal carcinoma). In the time between finding the lump and her diagnosis she had to travel to the breast health clinic in Vancouver for ultra sounds and mammograms and again for a biopsy of the “lump”.
Treatment started September 14 and she has completed 8 chemotherapy treatments. She had surgery March 18th in which she opted for a double mastectomy.
She is still currently in recovery and is waiting for the “go ahead” in order to start radiation which will take place in Kelowna and will be 25-28 treatments.
This means she will be in between Kamloops and Kelowna for a month. She is currently receiving targeted chemotherapy (every 3 weeks) and am starting hormone therapy this week as well.
This experience has been full of highs and lows and allergic reactions and set backs. But most of all this experience has been full of love and support. Marlo's family has been taking turns being with her during chemo and her surgery.
Now it is time for all of us to step in and support this amazing, daughter, sister, friend, and Warrior Women!
Please share far and wide with our Vic, Yukon and Alberta friends and family.
For those who have caught my live on opening products, there is one product I said that I wanted to donate 75% to a dear friend and elder Melven Jones
Out of the products I got I was waiting for my "EVERY CHILD MATTERS ZIPPER CARRY ALL" with this design, along with the Every Child Matters Print and my New Beginnings print, I want to give 75% to Melven Jones recovery journey with new lungs.
I want to donate this design specifically as Mel is an Elder that is a Residential School Survivor as well as Foster Care Survivor. It seemed fitting that I could use this design to Honor such an amazing human being. Please see the red picture within this photo about Mel and his journey.
🧡🧡🧡🧡PRICES🧡🧡🧡🧡
For the carry all, and two prints I will be doing a special deal of $75 dollars
For the carry all and one print it will be $50.00
For just the carry all it will be $45.00

If you are unable to purchase a share would be greatly appreciated, or if you would like to support financially please see Berta Boo post I attached about what her family is also doing for Mel

Day one of : To***co Bag
When drawing this, I reflected back to attending one of my first Sundance Ceremony, I was gifted a beautiful medicine bag that had included to***co in it. Though this isn't a rendition of that bag but it reminded me of the stories and love that can go into such bags. I'm grateful to learn more about my husband and sons Métis background over the years. I'm also so grateful for an Indigenous version of inktober/artober Hychka, Tansi, Marsi, Thank you
Started this morning with the infant and toddler groups for some singing and storytelling. It was such a great way to start the day, as Truth and Reconciliation Day is tomrrow. Not only did the clap and dance, but they also all had orange shirts and put there hands on this poster. 🥹🧡 Walk gently my friends 🧡🧡🧡🧡
