Physica Health
Physica is a boutique physiotherapy studio that was built for one purpose. To empower all patients to improve their health.
Our goal is to get you better faster, in the minimum amount of sessions needed. We aim to optimize rehab and performance.
Cool case in clinic today. Patient presented 3 days post soccer injury with swelling and bruising and point tenderness. Interestingly, he could weight bear with no pain and could do a calf raise with no pain. We sent him to emergency for an X-ray. Here is his text back to us. Germany needed him for the Euros but he needs to wait a bit now. ⚽️
What’s the injury here?
Fernwood vibes.
New front desk staff at the clinic today 🤗🫢🫢
Beyond excited about this new collaboration with Kya as we continue to aim to provide best quality of care here at Physica. Stay tuned as we continue to integrate pelvic health services with musculoskeletal physiotherapy and osteopathy services to bring evidence based care at Physica Health.
Good luck to all the runners doing the BMO Vancouver marathon tomorrow. 74 year old aiming for 3 hrs 22. What a legend.
When graced us with her presence at our clinic. Check her new location at . She’s doing great work and Victoria is lucky to have her.
5 years today we opened Physica health. Big dream of ours to open a different experience just one on one with the clients. It’s been so much fun. Here is to 5 more 🥂 Thank you to all patients who have supported us and the community who refers to us. Always appreciate it 💕
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Joel Cosman. He’s been a great addition to Physica health over the past few years and we wish him all the best as he moves to a different schedule hours with Geometry.
A lot of lateral epicondylalgia in the clinic lately. Some tennis players, pickle ball and desk overstrain. These can be challenging conditions to treat. Lots of things to think about with grip, size, string tension, weight of racket, head size.
does a great job in helping players with ideas to help with tennis or pickle ball racket changes if needed.
Great weekend mentoring with on tempo-mandibular issues and different treatment techniques. Even was gracious to attend :) we miss seeing these guys around!
Highly recommend for jaw related pain!
Looking forward to 2024. Thanks once again for all our patients this year and after a short holiday, we look forward to welcome you back in early January.
Thanks for this amazing cap :)
Happy holidays to everyone.
Thanks for your continuous support of a small family business. Kya and I opened Physica to provide one on one hands on therapy and we thrive to provide the best patient experience for all musculoskeletal needs. Our one room studio aims to see one patient at a time.
As we enter 2024, our 5th year, we continue to get excited every day to go to physica and improve our services.
Stay tuned for 2024, a new physiotherapy service will be coming soon 🏃♀️
thanks for the beautiful picture! Love your designs.
Little bit of reading on a Sunday night.
One common question we always get is “which running shoes should I get?”
Not an easy one to answer as research on shoes is quite limited! Some research discusses the importance of a higher drop with people that have lower leg issues, whilst a lower drop can help with knee pain. An assessment of how the patient present is obviously key.
Here we have the brooks glycerin which is a shoe with 100mm drop. Nice soft cushioning can help people with plantar fasciitis or calf injuries. If you want a durable, moderately soft, highly cushioned shoe with a solid forefoot transition will do well in the Glycerin.
Thank you for providing us with the pictures. He’s our main photographer at physica and always helps us look good :))
Last night I had a dream that 2 🐐 came to see me at the clinic. Then I woke up :)
Happy weekend to everyone 😘
Football season starts this week in Europe. Who is excited? VISL here in Victoria starts soon in September.
Wishing everyone an injury free season ahead and some great games to be had. Special shout to fernwood football club.
Not many posts lately as been busy with a new baby and thinking about more coffee every day.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and this beautiful summer weather.
One of the top Physios in BC passed away last week. I remember studying her research 17 years ago and taking a course about neck pain a few years ago. Was so nice to chat with her and learning from her.
Such sad news, her family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Squash player presenting with lateral epicondyalgia, also known as tennis elbow. We love loading, and her we are loading his backhand extensor strength on his first assessment at the clinic. We continue to use a ton of isometrics in tendon injuries, and it produces good results. Lots of research coming from Australia about isometric holds for tendon loading.
And yes, we told him that he can still continue playing…one of the biggest fears of our patients!
Happy international women’s day. Kya is the engine of the clinic and specializes in women’s health and pelvic floor physiotherapy. She is always in the background helping us to fix problems, watering our plants and making sure the clinic runs smoothly day in day out.
Now we have a problem as she will be on Mat leave starting next week! How will she be missed. We look forward to seeing her again in 2024 :)
Thank you for helping us in the picture ☺️
Excited to start offering this service at physica. Treating tmj as it relates to neck, headaches and simply jaw pain.
Thanks to Maria Zerjav for a great course last weekend.
Excited for the weekend and to offer a new service here at Physica. Finally an in-person course. Love how tmj physio can help our patients dealing with jaw pain, neck pain and headaches and their integration!
Who is ready for March 2023?! We are super excited to offer a new service in 2 weeks! Stay tuned :)
Any idea on what you think it is?
Thank you for being a perfect model 🤭
Looking forward on our next project working with .rmt
Big exciting things coming up!
January is always a special month for Physica. We got our manual therapy table which we love. Getting into the clinic was a mission. What great memories those first few days were setting up the clinic 4 years ago!
This picture that we have in our clinic of the time we went to Iceland, 4 years ago before we moved to Victoria. Totally signifies an athlete/patient’s route to an injury or pain.
Hope 2023 is a great one for everyone. Thanks for all the support in 2022.
Lots of knee pain in the clinic lately. Lots of runners. Some love ktape. Some find it does nothing. What are your thoughts?
Our clinic space. 🥰 we fell in love the first time we saw it. January 2019. Our dream was to provide a setting where a patient feels comfortable knowing that they are getting one on one care. No machines. Just evidence based care one on one approach. Manual therapy and an exercise program with every patient.
Every patient is given a treatment plan and we will work together with you to improve your health.
We can’t wait for 2023!
Happy holidays to our Patients who trusted us with their health in 2022. What a pleasure it has been to treat all of you. Looking forward to 2023. Much love to everyone.
What a player! What a World Cup! Congrats Argentina!!
