Build a Furry Friend Toy Lodge

So this week was Farm to Table week at Beacons Buddies Summer Camp and the girls this week fell in love with donkeys after so thry wanted to visit across the street from our clubhouse and see where the name came from! They got to see pictures of Nino and Romeo the inspiration for the name and when we got back to the clubhouse they decided they wanted to learn how to paint donkeys with a spin, personalize with Nino and Romeo! I think they did awesome! What do you think?

First day of summer camp has come to an end and the kids finished their binoculars and started their hot air balloon lamps! Each lamp is coloured to match the theme of their room and love the creativity so far!

While not all faces could be on camera smiles were on everyone’s faces and fun was had by all. Can’t wait to share the finished photos!

Today we hosted some special visitors with the 1st Westbank Sparks Unit! Each little one was able to dress their new BFF with a special custom sparks scarf/bandana.

These kids amaze me! When you give them structure but let them show their own creative flare they feel the project more and take their time.

Our art classes are designed for different levels to provide focus but help, outlines if needed, we do any cutting of course and the hot glue too for accents.

The kids learn focus and determination to meet a common goal but at their own timeline not rushed.

Thank you to the for inviting us to their Summer BBQ at today to share with visitors what does and info about and ♥️ our kids club kids came out and did face painting and glitter tattoos while made his rounds learning about s**t with (offered to make a donation to the exhibit but was declined), learned about preventing wildfires with fire smart team, found his inner Smokey the bear (you too can prevent wildfires), made sure there was no beaver tails on the menu with west k (just hot dogs and hamburgers) and inspected face/body painting and more!

So here is a sneek peek of the kids project right now in . So far they are at 3 days of work but they are really taking shape! This little unicorn is by one of our youngest members at the ages of 5 and 3/4! She has been working so hard and focuses on it with help from the workshop leader and still holding patience. This week was shaping and applying and next week will be painting, accessorizing and adding money slot and plug!

We can’t wait to see each of the personalities the piggy banks take on! This project has taught the kids patience, soft hands/gentle, sharing, working together and most of all having fun!

Definitely a messy week but so much fun 🤣 probably too much! Luckily flour and water washes out easily!

Today the kid members came together to learn all about gradients and turning them into sunrises to sunsets to tranquil beaches sand and water! So much fun working on these this week for North Okanagan Children’s Festival coming up May 25!

We are so excited to share a piece of our west k program with the North.

Kids have been busy visiting and decorating pennants for the North Okanagan Children’s Festival in the Community Clubhouse! The kids are so excited to be part of another amazing event.

We gathered our kids this past week to make Mother’s Day gifts for their moms. Each child got yo pick their own item and design it however they wanted to celebrate their mom.
