The Secret Society of Snickery is looking for Candy Cadets. A fresh face with lots of energy, s***k, and can make a crowd feel at home at our event.

Our Candy Cadets will circulate through the crowd and sell nostalgic candies, take event photos (be our roaming photo booth), and be our hostesses for the evening.

They get to be the Belles of the Ball, with cute uniforms, they can accept tips, and we hope they have lots of fun.

A Hidden Great Gatsby Bash with all the fun of an underground Speakeasy and a silly secret society of comedy. It's all the rage!
We are describing the event as:
A 1920's Speakeasy environment with a comtemporary hipster vibe. That means if you want to dress in a historical get up, you can, or if you want to be a modern cool cat, that's fine too! Don't let your rags define you, come out and bust out the shenanigans!
Fancy Dress, not ultra formal, cocktail party
Make sure you are wearing a smile!
We will also have our Candy Cadets out in room selling nostalgic candies and will take a polariod photo of you for a small fee. They will be carrying silly gag photo booth pieces like mustaches on a stick for you to pose with.

Become a member of The Secret Society of Snickery! We are offering free membership cards with every ticket sold for "Oh! The Snickery!" This gives you perks, discounts, and updates on all the news for our upcoming events.
SHHHHHH!!! Don't tell anyone, keep it between us Snickerers. 😉

We will be serving our very own signature drink at our event "Oh, The Snickery!". It is appropriately called "The Snickery". We suggest you don't have too many or.......you may have uncontrollable snickers.
Well, maybe that is not so bad! 😉

Introducing Our Candy Cadets!

These lovely young ladies will be circulating among the guests and selling nostalgic candies, fun trinkets, Secret Society Memberships, and other unique items.

They will also be taking poloroid photos of our guests for a small fee as a form of photo booth, just a roaming one that will come to you with a big sweet smile.

They will carry trays of wonderful and sweet items in a tray. These items will include photo booth props, like a mustache on a stick, or a monocle, etc. Please ask the ladies if you wish to include a prop in your photo. When they take your photo they will give it to you in a lovely gold gilded card with our emblem on it and you can sign it with a golden marker if you wish.

We are currently creating/filming new content. It is our goal to create quality content that our viewers will enjoy and benefit from.

Our events, website, social media presence, and shows are painstakingly being rebuilt. Our old shows must be reshot to refocus the content away from our former Steampunk niche mandate.

Many of the interviews we filmed for The Monocle were done via Zoom and were not sufficient quality. Other shows were filmed with a Steampunk focus. We are currently working on reshooting and refocusing to create shows that are more inclusive to a wider audience.

We are now offering in person events that are concentrating on comedy and supporting local talent in the areas they are being held in.

As we are moving forward we are working to offer more rounded, better quality, and a higher professional presentation. It is our hope that and goal to be airing this content soon. Thank you everyone for your patience.

We firmly believe that to be deviously daring in our creative endeavours is what makes us stand out. Our content will contain the most devious of elements…..pure entertainment. Our content is coming. We create thought-filled, intelligent stories, that are focused on the Human condition and solid storytelling. Do you miss that? Well, you are welcome, hold my beer dear because we will give that to you in spades.

Hello Lolz Buddies!

Natasha Klassen here, CEO of Subgenres Media, I have to sadly announce that my health is severely impacting my ability to run this event. I have experienced some significant setbacks with my health and mobility issues.

I must announce a pause on the Open Mic Comedy Nights until some stumbling blocks can be overcome.

We do hope to return bigger and more Silly in the future. But, we must take a step back to put things in place to insure the organization’s long term success.

Our first and foremost goal has always been to provide professional training and a platform that gives “up and coming” comedic performers from am to pro a professional performance experience. We believe in giving opportunities and showing how amazing local talent can be.

The main stumbling blocks are:

I have not been able to hire satellite staff in Grand Forks, North Dakota to run the event when my health does not permit me to travel. I am not able to be present at every event. I need clones of myself to be admin and show runner staff out there. We are making efforts to develop a satellite office in Grand Forks.

Funding is also proving to be tricky. So we are hoping to fix the admin issues and establish a legit/impressive reputation in Grand Forks so people will understand the value of our organization.

We also hope to establish a healthy thriving community of performers and audience members. Our hopes is to expand our reach to the Greater Grand Forks area and other cities in North Dakota and Minnesota. We want to attract a diverse and large representation of talent in the area.

We are not giving up on Grand Forks! Everyone we have been fortunate to work with is wonderful and we thank the Empire Arts Centre for being our first home away from home.

We will continue to update this page with developments and news about The Secret Society of Snickery and our Open Mic Comedy Nights. It is our goal to never say never and after refocusing and building our onsite staff/office, come back with a ton of Guffaws! And Candy Cadets! 🙂
