SINC. UPDATE:

It‘s already been a few months since "Staring Down on Incandescent Cities" came out, with its 3 Videos, limited Vinyl + CD editions (still available!) and wonderful media & fan feedback.

Since then, I have been "secretly" active working on new music. Due to a number of circumstances, the direction has revealed itself from early on as heavier, more compact, more direct and to the point. I started writing more in song format, more suited for vocals. The songs are quite epic, melodic and heavy, both progressive & melancholy and already thoroughly arranged and the next logic step is to discover THE vocalist (suggestions accepted!) to bring all this to life. I'm very proud of this catchy bangers, which while being more straightforward, still hold true to the SInc. template, in that they‘re steeped in atmospheres, electronics, orchestrations and loops and some of the best guitar sounds I‘ve ever came up with. I also aim to keep the future album on the shorter side and other than the rock numbers, also feat. an electronic-laden song & an acoustic-laden song, both quite special. The potential is endless, I can tell you that already...

"Back in 2017, I released an album called “Desolate Angels”, the 2nd SINC. offering and a partially conceptual album. Existentialist, influenced by the Beat generation’s writings and with a healthy portion of Iceland - its rough and magic landscapes - following a dream journey I had just made there. The title-track of that album was a 10min epic endeavor, “life-in-a-song” basically. I was very proud of the track and always considered it a SINC. highlight, though throughout the years it always bothered me how the recording & production never did it due justice.

Cut forth to 2023 and “Staring Down Into Incandescent Cities”: the first thing I decided, after getting Daniel Cardoso on board for session drums, was that the moment had arrived to finally remake the track. Not only with real drums, but rerecording pretty much everything else and adding & honing quite a few details in the process. Manuel Costa again handled the 6-string bass and even a few extra backing vocals. The track has grown enormously and now achieved its shining splendor, and I‘m so happy with the performances all around, finally doing it justice.
The song was created in the same sessions as the new album, and now, to celebrate its first trimester, the LP release and the seasonal festivities, I’m sharing with you, along with its (slightly) revamped video from back then, a slideshow comprised of photos I took around Iceland and also the lyrics."

This is a quite straightforward, energetic song, with vocals & lyrics by guest Amado Peiró and an almost pop-leaning flair to it, among its many layers and dynamics.

Bruno A. created a (lyric) video based on 8mm stock footage, which we feel represents the quirk and almost magical realism of the concept for the track. Both song & video are, in a way, driving, fun & whimsical, but also deep and thoughtful. Enjoy the ride and singalong!

This is the 2nd single and also song that closes off the album (as "bonus track"), the 3rd part of an installment which started with the SInc. debut, back in 2016. A minimalist, dreamy and intimate video, spontaneously shot in an atmosphere only possible between two friends. Most of all, suited to the moods of the song, somewhere between melancholy and hope.
