In the UK, su***de remains the leading cause of death for men under 45, and the rate of su***des among teenage girls and young women has nearly doubled in recent years. This is a complex and sensitive issue with multiple contributing factors.

Su***de is not solely a mental health issue. It is influenced by a range of challenges, including:

• Discrimination
• Relationship breakdowns
• Chronic pain
• Abuse

Often, su***de can be an impulsive act. Yet, the stigma surrounding mental health too often prevents individuals from seeking the support they need. Support is available, but increasing our understanding of how we can make a difference is crucial.
