Good luck to all our members and friends who are awaiting exam results today. Remember , if you worked hard and did your best then be proud of yourself. Results don’t define who you are, but help show you what you can achieve and what you can improve on.

We encourage all students to attend as many extra classes during the holidays for no extra charge.

Today's office is the brilliant Braehead school in Bridge of Don. Excited to be back in the school, we always have a lot of fun.

One of our members has just launched a new business in Cults, called Braw. Make sure to look them up if you are looking for that perfect gift.

What’s better than a hard judo session? ……. Pizza after!

Last night our guys stayed behind to bond over pizza. Was great to see everyone chill and enjoy each others company after a long and hard term with exams, training etc. mental health and taking a little time to enjoy friendships is so important.

Yesterday we finished all classes in the brilliant cults primary. Huge school with great kids and amazing teachers, we had a blast. This week it’s airyhall primary schools turn. 2 classes down and what a great atmosphere and lovely school. It’s going to be a fun week.

2024 masterclass - Michihiro Omigawa

4 years ago this weekend, I was introduced to Michihiro Omigawa online as we were both trying our hardest to keep judo alive throughout covid. We had our first zoom session from his dojo in japan. In the past 4 years, our club have trained at Neo dojo on our last tour in 2023 , my family have spent time with him in April of this year in Yokohama and he is now in Scotland at our dojo, sharing the same passion for judo. Some good things have come out of the covid years, namely friendships.

There is no sport like judo.

We have had a great week at cults academy activity week and now looking forward to a great weekend of judo with friends old and new.

Places are starting to go for the upcoming masterclass with Omigawa sensei on 19th May in Aberdeen. whilst we still have spaces in the children's sessions, the session for 13 years plus (including adults) has only a few spaces left. Book in today to avoid disappointment.

A great day yesterday for the club at the first Grand Prix event of the year in Clyde. We had Liam, Filip and Alessandro competing and I am extremely proud of all their attitudes, attacking judo and fighting spirit.
Liam came a hard-fought 5th place with 2 ippon wins (one in 6 seconds) and Alessandro left with more valuable points towards his 1st dan, experience and further proof that his journey towards 1st dan is gathering steam. They both showed maturity in their Judo and huge technical progression.
The star of the show though was young Filip. Fighting his first competition since a horror sledging accident last year, which saw him paralysed and having to undergo multiple operations just to walk again. Stepping foot on the tatami was a miracle. The attitude of Filip and his family is unique and inspiring as was highlighted by a confident display in a new category. Winning a bronze medal, he is back in the sport he loves, doing what he does best.
A day full of emotions but a day of Judo! congratulations to the 3 of you and thanks to everyone who helped prepare them.

We are planning on running a 6 week adult beginners class soon. Please get in touch if you are interested in trying the sport with us. Suitable for all.

We have 3 classes, 4- 8 years, 9-12 years, and 13 years to adult. Suitable for all levels and abilities. This is a must for all our members but open to all.

good luck to all our members and friends who are sitting exams, go in as prepared as you can be and with confidence in yourself.

Remember, exams are just a part of your academic study but do not define your future. Once the exam is over, you can not change the outcome, so don't stress, concentrate on what's next with a positive attitude. Control the controllables.
