At Base Functional Fitness, Chivenor.
Cost £10 (not sure what to do with the money yet, but it will not be going into my pocket! I like the idea of giving it to a local charity or helping out another man in need.
Why?
Honestly I am unsure of the why yet, all I know is that I would like to bring men together and to create a environment where we can be honest, inspirational and help each other with tackling life. To see us all smiling, joking and laughing whilst doing some strength and fitness.
What to expect?
A gym full of men who are wanting to get after it and support each other. Expect to talk to people, encourage others, expect beer or non alcoholic beer. Expect to ache the next day! Expect that I will be completely open and honest about my life, and some of the struggles I face and how I am working through them (it might help others).
Please dont expect a circle where we all discuss our problems and off load how s**t our lifes are. If after individuals want to drive deeper into personal problems I will be ready to listen!

Our first “Men’s Night”

Was really inspiring, and motivating seeing the gym full of lads all working together, chatting and being part of something special.

Men, Mo’s, and Bro’s
In the past, we have put ourselves through some fitness challenges to raise money for the cause, but this year we want to give back to the men of our local community as well as raise money for Movember.
This Movember we will be holding a ‘Men, Mos and Bros’ event for all the dads, lads, brothers, sons, and friends to come and learn more about mental health, breathing practices and of course complete some strength training.
When - Friday 25th November 7-9 pm
Where - Base Functional Fitness
Who - Men (non-members welcome as well).
Cost - Donations (suggested £25)
Event Outline:
Firstly, this will not be a men's circle where we come together to share our stories. We want to start teaching the why? Understanding the different states of mind and what that means to life. The event will focus on:
Understanding the nervous system & different states (Fight, Flight, Flow, & Freeze)
Breathing Practices
Tools for you to use in your life
Strength Training and a Workout
Beer & Stretch

Base Functional Fitness's Mo Space Base Functional's Motivation: Globally, the rate of su***de is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Help me stop men dying too young.
BASE AT HOME: NECK & UPPER THORACIC
Many people have stiffness or tightness in the upper back and neck region of the body. This could be caused by a number of aspects including sleep position, excessive sitting, rounding of the shoulders, and spending to much time in your phone to name a few.
We give this 5-6 minutes self message routine to our clients who have similar problems while working on identifying and removing the main cause of the pain / discomfort.
