It's been a busy few weeks since we launched Rich Tyers Studios; securing over £1.3m of projects for the year ahead! Below is an example of some of our recently completed work in .
This Combe Down semi-detached home was in a near-original state when the clients bought it; with a separate kitchen and dining room and a small lean to extension. The living spaces were small, dark and separated from the garden. The existing kitchen, downstairs toilet and garage were poorly constructed and needed replacing.
The client wanted an that would provide a generous and /dining/kitchen space that gave seamless access to the garden.
We opted for a flat-roofed extension to give generous floor-to-ceiling heights. As the garden was north facing, we could introduce large areas of glazing without the risk of the family room overheating in summer.
The final design provides:
• A generous family room with open plan kitchen, living/play space and dining table
• Flat and seamless access to the garden
• A huge utility with plenty of storage; allowing the kitchen to be kept clean
• Access from the front drive to the back garden via the garage (for muddy boots and bikes)
• A well insulated space in winter and cool in summer
