This is a side extension to an existing bungalow, offering an exciting new space for an open plan kitchen/dining/snug for a lovely family of four. The window seat will be the new little hub for everyone in the house to enjoy the view into the garden.
Today the concrete of the foundations will be poured and also the work for the new drain connection.

Today, we're taking a closer look at the Yorick House project in Bath, in collaboration with , and delving into some of the design details we contributed to the project.
01 - Sliding Door and Fixed Windows in the Lounge: This design element was implemented to enhance the flow of natural light into the living area while offering picturesque views, especially focusing on the more private areas of the garden.
02 - Wrap-Around Canopy and Boot Storage: Extending the extension's roof to encompass the path from the parking area to the front door not only provides shelter but also creates a convenient boot storage area. Additionally, it gracefully wraps the lower part of the house with timber cladding, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall scheme.
03 - Window Seat in the Dining Area: To maximize space in the somewhat narrow dining area, we introduced a window seat. This not only creates an illusion of more space but also offers a pleasant view over a planter, allowing people to sit by the window and enjoy the green surroundings.
04 - Loft Space Transformation with Dressing Room and En-Suite: An innovative approach was taken to increase the floor space of the house by converting a portion of the loft. What started as an unexpected opportunity during the project turned into a well-executed dressing room and en-suite, adding tremendous value to the space.
05 - Stepped Connection Between Kitchen and Living Area: Considering the property's sloping terrain, we decided to incorporate a stepped connection between the kitchen and living space. This approach reduced the need for extensive groundwork and improved internal ceiling heights. It also provided the perfect opportunity to integrate a unique kitchen island within the steps.
06 - Revamped Entrance with Ample Glazing: Originally, the house's entrance was rather dim and unwelcoming. To address this, we relocated the front door and added a timber canopy, creating a more spacious entry. This modification also allowed for the addition of a glazed screen in the entrance hall, flooding the space with natural light and enhancing the sense of openness.

Happy to share these photos with you all! This project has just finished and is for a single storey rear extension in with .
The extension creates a new living space with direct access to the rear gardens. The space also connects into a replanned kitchen and dining area, for a lovely open plan living space. Large sliding doors link the interior space with a raised terrace area outside. A pop out window seat is also included in the dining space to provide framed and private views of the garden.
The rest of the property has been re configured to provide a high quality, contemporary family home with lots of light and space. A small loft conversion provides an en-suite and dressing room at the top floor.
All new windows, render finish, internal insulation to external walls, air source heat pump, underfloor heating and PV panels means this house should perform well on its running costs.

We've been super busy this week creating these 3D visuals for this new contemporary house on the outskirts of .
It all forms part of the developing design, as we explore the look and feel of the interior and exterior. Next steps are to develop the technical design package for the scheme and keep adding detail!

We're excited to see this project nearing completion this month! Look out for some photos in the upcoming weeks of the finished project.
The project is for a new single storey extension to the rear of the existing house, finished with timber cladding that wraps around the lower part of the existing house. The extension creates a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area with connections to the rear garden and lots of light.
New contemporary windows to the existing house, ensure this dwelling is upgraded to current styles and standards.
Internally the house has been reconfigured to provide an additional bedroom, living space and several bathrooms, making the house more efficient and suitable for a family.
Happy Friday! Weโve had fun this week ๐ working on some concepts for a staircase design in .
Weโve worked up 4 options, based on a sleek and simple style, with a light feel and a contrast to the birch ply interior. There are also a few playful options, including seating as part of the stair and possibly even a bright orange stair!
Weโre also exploring options for a sliding panel system on the landing to obscure views from the outside at night.

Planning Submission Made!
Excited to share the 3D images of this extension project in . Itโs actually 2 properties with the same style of extension, as we look to modernise each house with a fresh new look. Weโre excited to get this project into planning, as weโve worked hard to ensure the design is right and fits in with the local context in its countryside location ๐๐๐
We are excited to share with you some external and internal views of one of our projects in Stoke St Michael.
This project is for a refurbishment and a new single-storey extension to the side of an existing bungalow. We felt like pushing the requirements with this project, so our design strategy for improving the use of the house is split into four main actions. Relocating the entrance, rationalizing the circulation through the spaces, reconfiguring the bedrooms and adding the new side extension which will include an open plan kitchen, dining and snug room.
The design of the extension is contemporary with vertical timber cladding and modern windows. The bifold doors, large picture windows and roof lights ensure plenty of light coming through the space but also offer great views of the rear garden. Internally, the window seat creates a โcosyโ little space and the open plan kitchen/snug/dining will be the new โfocal pointโ of the entire house.
The project has received planning permission and we are soon to submit drawings for the Building Regulations approval.

๐Excited to share that weโve submitted for planning approval for this loft conversion, rear extension and internal reconfiguration of this large property in Bath.
The design looks to sensitively upgrade this property, whilst maintaining the character of the existing house. Reusing the roof tiles and ashlar stone should ensure continuity between old and new. Whilst a new glazing arrangement means the property will feel a bit more contemporary and have improved thermal comfort.

Weโve been working hard this week in preparing technical information for this first floor extension in Bath.
Weโre always looking to refresh, refine and update our graphical presentation skills, so that client, contractor and others can understand what happens on site.
We try and make everything as clear and legible as possible, but with so much information to show it can sometimes be tricky! Weโre still evolving this aspect of the business and probably always will be ๐๐
Whilst we often show the pretty pictures and drawings on Insta, we feel this is where we really add value to a project in being able to convey clearly what needs to happen next and how to bring a beautiful design to reality

Weโve been developing a concept for a first floor extension to a terrace of period cottages in BANES. Looking to the local surrounding for inspiration, weโve included double-gable style extensions with timber cladding for a contemporary twist. The extensions are set back from the edges of the existing house so they appear subservient and limiting the amount of bulk weโre adding.
This drawing represents the end of the concept stage, as we start to move into more detailed drawings.

Lovely extension project completed in the last few weeks in the conservation area.
The extension provides an open plan kitchen and dining space and links into a back kitchen area and snug which are all on different levels.
Due to the level changes, the new extension space has a tall ceiling height that mirrors the nature of the period property.
The project has good sustainability credentials in the reuse of the shell of the existing extension and utilising a new timber frame with high levels of insulation. The over hang ensures the interior doesnโt over heat in the summer and allows the winter sun to warm up the inside when itโs lower in the sky.

Weโre trying to work with the following parameters:
- Existing roof of the side part of the house, hence the asymmetrical roof - weโve carried on this roof to the rear corner of the extension.
- The first floor window cills - we need to squeeze the roof in underneath these!
- The neighbouring rear extension which has a lean-to roof which we need to be below on the party wall
- Client prefers the gable style extension we opposed to a lean to
