Just a reminder…

I am seeing a surge of posts on Facebook about people adding essential oils to their water. 💧 please please please DO NOT DO THIS!!! Essential oils are highly potent and not made to be ingested. The lining of the digestive system is thinner and more permeable than the skin on the outside of the body. If an essential oil applied near can burn your outside skin what can it do to the skin on the inside of your body? 🤯

Many companies with claim their oils are safe to ingest but as a qualified aromatherapist (most of the people who sell these oils are not) think before you act. Digestive discomfort is the least you will end up with but liver damage and kidney failure are not something you want.

So…I have been asked so many times in the past week about (and told I really should be) putting my prices up. Cost of living is rising, petrol going up, food costs going up etc etc. It just makes good business sense apparently…

BUT as a thank you to all you wonderful and loyal people who find benefit in the treatments you come to me for, my prices are staying the same.

My ethos has always been that these treatments that most feel are luxurious,are actually maintenance and of massive benefit…to everyone. They should be affordable and not make you stress out about having to look after yourself.

As recommended by the NICE guidelines and Dr Heather Currie on diagnosis and management of the menopause, blood tests are not recommended to be taken to diagnose perimenopause or menopause in women aged 45 and over. Hormone levels fluctuate significantly and bear no correlation to the presence of symptoms or need for treatment. Blood tests are sometimes helpful in women aged 40 to 45, though usually the diagnosis can be made by history of symptoms and period pattern.

In women under age 40 with symptoms suggestive of menopause, blood tests are recommended to confirm what can be a devastating diagnosis, and to investigate for a possible cause.
