These small group tutorials will be an excellent way to ask any questions you may have and learn more about basic interpretation skills.
Abdominal x-rays are very a common investigation carried out on patients in a variety of settings so it is important that as medical students we can easily interpret abdominal x-rays and present findings clearly.

Announcing our next QUB Radiology Society Event!

Join us on Tuesday January 25th at 7pm for an exciting talk on PET CT Scans by Dr. Charles Mullan.

Dr. Mullan is a consultant Radiologist and Honorary Lecturer at QUB’s School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Science.

Positron emission tomography (PET) scans involve injecting a radioactive tracer (usually attached to glucose molecules) and taking images using a combination of a CT scanner and a gamma ray detector to visualise how metabolically active various tissues are. They are useful in identifying areas that the cancer has spread to by showing areas of increased metabolic activity.

By identifying changes at the cellular level, PET may detect the early onset of disease before other imagining tests can.
