Chicks in the kitchen reminds me of those Lucy Daniels books I read as a child. Now I feel like our home is worthy of its name 😁

My dog just came over and did this. Five minutes she stayed that way and then her nutty niece ruined it by sitting on us 😆
❤️
What an interesting four days

Celebrating my first baby's birthday with this homemade dark chocolate forest log cake complete with marzipan fungi, almond crackle leaves and cake crumb moss
I used the Buche de Noel recipe by Edd Kimber. My daughter's favourite chocolate is dark, so we swapped two tablespoons of flour out for extra cocoa powder;
She also prefers chocolate over cream, so I used the following for the filing and icing:
370g Bonne Maman Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
300ml double cream
1tbsp cocoa
2tbsp light brown sugar
Seeds of 1 vanilla bean pod
2tbsp frangelico

Cake crumb is standard sponge recipe with green food colouring added and then crumbled (use gel colours for colour retention after baking
Mushrooms made with marzipan and then hand painted
My last crystal wreath making session today. So lovely to run a mum and daughter workshop ❤️
TOMORROW - Two spaces only. Comment to book
The beautiful wreaths made this weekend 🌲❤️
What do I love most about running workshops?
What a little time to oneself can inspire. Just giving someone a space to embrace who they are, recognise what they feel or simply tools to play or imagine with, can lead to so much more! Little things ARE the big things: the joy, the extra, the fairy dust.
Every wreath has been completely different over these two days of workshops. Everyone started with a hand spun willow hoop and foraged Scots pine. Tools, materials and crystal wrapping instructions were available, but everyone is given space to play and embrace their own creativity.
This woman's creativity led to wirework creatures adorning her wreath. I hope this can inspire you to embrace what makes you different. It inspired me!

Each of these velvet pouches contain three or more crystals with their name and implications specific to their purpose. Some are rough, some are smooth. All represent different aspects we need in life.
They are a mystery as to which you will pick, with the intention set that you receive what you most need.
After wrapping their willow hoops with Scott's Pine and various greenery, Guests will add on extras and be shown how to weave these crystals into their wreath in three different wrapping methods.
Send me a message if you'd like to be first to hear of my seasonal wreath making workshops for spring and summer

This week is a busy one!
Despite limiting my crystal wreath making workshop to tiny numbers this year, I am looking forward to prepping with a week filled with foraging! A few weeks ago, I made the willow hoops, winding and binding with wire, leaving time for them to strengthen into their hooped shape as they dry. The weekend has been filled with drying fruit slices, a hugely time consuming task, but the pink of grapefruit slices will always be worth the 20 hour active dehydration they require to me. Today I have scoped where to acquire the greenery I leave to last, and I have a few yellow rose heads and these beautiful leaves drying out. Tomorrow will be my first foraging walk, to determine what special addition will adorn each guests wreath, as well as their mystery crystals. Looking forward to it ❤️

Halloween is a favourite time of year for me... A time where we can reflect on our pasts and what and who made us what we are today; having gratitude for the lessons and the life we were given.
Many choose to embrace the 'spooky' narrative that is associated with earlier evenings and the change in nature's growth to preservation. Some celebrate the "thinning of the veil" and take the opportunity to connect and feel closer to ancestors. Some simply enjoy dressing up.
It is now that the "wicked witch" persona appears - in costumes, masks and on screens. It's a shame, as witches were traditionally simply wise women. The healers, medicine women, birthers of community. The one who would be visited to offer advice and help to keep a community thriving.
There are many of us still, though we hold titles of advisor, midwife, herbalist, healer...
Each year Byron Ballard asks those who consider themselves witches, to show the world their faces to normalise and undo stereotyping.
I'm not saying sitting on a Voodoo Doughnut Throne is 'normal' but it's a pic of me dressed normally in a slightly odd location 😆
Here is the request.
'What witches look like from Byron Ballard':
“About this time every year, I ask you all to post a picture of yourself with the
.
Not in a "witch" costume or ritual robes. Just yourself as you look to dispense some of the stereotypes and misunderstandings. We've done it for several years and it's always a fun adventure.”
So here I am, in all my glory!
After problem after problem, causing a two month delay, we are finally exchanged!
Looking forward to being able to offer more classes, meditation workshops, and nature based events at our new home in Birchanger.
We complete mid November, just in time for my Crystal Wreath Making Workshop on Sunday 26th

Get Fair about Farming! Please sign
This is so simple: pay what was agreed, buy what was agreed, don't leave farmers underpaid with extra work getting rid of extra food that was ordered!
Petition: Reform the Grocery Supply Code of Practice to better protect farmers We want the Government to amend the Grocery Supply Code of Practice (GSCP) to require retailers, without exception, to: - Buy what they agreed to buy - Pay what they agreed to pay - Pay on time We believe the current GSCP is inadequate and doesn't protect farmers from unfair behaviour.
It's a purply kind of day... relaxation increases the activity of the third eye.
When you relax the sight of what you literally see, you give your mind time to open to what else is there...
Purple energy pulses between your eyes and your mind opens its communication to the unknown. The veil is already lifting and this beetroot latte is a great way to relax and open to messages and direction from the unseen
Recipe:
-2/3 cup oat milk
-1/3 cup water
-1flat tsp honey
-1tbsp dried beetroot powder
Optional -sprinkle
Warm milk or froth; stir in honey and beetroot powder with intention to open your third eye and receive messages that are for your highest purpose.
You may be happy with allowing this connection to simply open and receive, or you may wish to connect the opening of communication to a specific purpose. If you would like to directly focus on a second area to connect with your third eye, sprinkle with an element to connect the two areas. Hibiscus for connecting to your root chakra, how you may increase your support/strength/structure... nutmeg to connect with the womb ...cinnamon for connection to your soul purpose... lemon thyme to connect to opening your heart to others... rose to connect with loving yourself...
You may like to retrieve a crystal, such as amethyst at this point to place on the third eye during your relaxation
Then relax whilst sipping, close your eyes and take 15 minutes to just listen
Started to see Christmas sweets in the supermarkets... why can we not enjoy each season for what it offers? If we are always preparing for the next, don't we miss what we could experience in the now?
You may say I'm looking ahead to Halloween with the image, but as you know, I always look like that 😆
Take time to reflect on the now and appreciate what is.

Rose Quartz
Rose quartz is one of my favourite crystals.
They emit vibrations that are gentle, nurturing and supportive. They make you feel calm and reflective, offering you comfort and a warm feeling.
They are often gifted to those who need support to recognise their worth or remember to love themselves. They are also often gifted as a ward over pregnant mothers to offer relaxation and nurture during pregnancy.
Rose Quartz aids in self love, relaxation and sleep. Everyone should have one! I have them in every room in my house (and under my bed!)
They can be ideally placed in the bedroom, however are extremely comforting in all rooms, and are water safe so can be placed in the bathroom (including the bath, but place on a mat so they don't scratch the tub).

Underneath the poet tree
come and rest awhile with me
and watch the way the word web weaves
between the shady story leaves
The branches of the poet tree
reach from the mountain to the sea
so come and sit...and dream...and climb-
just don't get hit by falling rhymes

Had fun playing with some really difficult poses yesterday. Really inspiring; beautiful angles; unusual body positions. Couldn't help but feel the magic in the air and incorporate a bit of Puck
Thanks to the model Caroline for the effort of holding those poses for us and for Julie Arnall for arranging them
