👀🙌 Hedgehogs enjoyed playing finger tennis.
They used their fingers to flick and throw pom poms over a net. This helps children develop their pincer grip ,needed for writing, and hand eye co-ordination 👀🤚
⭕️ DAY 5 AT THE OLYMPIC PARK
Badgers have learned about the tradition of the Olympic 🔥
We looked at the pictures of athletes passing the flame and then lighting the Olympic Flame at the end.
The Children made their own torches, working on their fine motor and turn taking skills ⭕️
⭕️ DAY 4 AT THE OLYMPIC PARK
This morning Hedgehogs enjoyed Olympic themed rice play.
We talked about the different colours of the rings and developed our maths skills by talking about quantities ⭕️
⭕️ DAY 2 AT THE OLYMPIC PARK
This morning Hedgehogs enjoyed an Olympic Colour Sorting activity. The children worked on their fine motor skills, trying to pick up pompoms of different sizes.
We also talked about colours whilst trying to match pompoms to Olympic rings and counting how many pompoms could fit in one ring.
The children worked on their focus and turn taking skills during this activity ⭕️

💚 Snowdrops & Butterflies have loved exploring water play in the garden this week.
The children enjoyed posting with Pom Poms and transferred water with pippets and water jugs, an excellent way to develop their fine motor skills 💧
⚡️ Our Hedgehogs room enjoyed exploring a sensory rice tray that promoted letter recognition, phonics and sensory development.
The Children 💚 using cups to scoop and pour out the rainbow rice & testing each other on what words they could find hidden beneath ⚡️
🌳 This morning Hedgehogs and Badgers enjoyed challenging themselves with new yoga sequences.
Badgers tried a new yoga sequence which involved more difficult transitions between the poses. Meanwhile,
Hedgehogs tried a simplified version and were introduced to new poses. We also focussed on using our breath to help guide us through the poses and used positive affirmations when we found it difficult 💚

🦔 SCHOOL READINESS
Badgers enjoyed exploring & forming letters beginning with their name on the light pads.
They followed the arrows on the card independently showing good pincer grip and control.
They chose other letters to mark make with good hand eye co-ordination throughout 🖊️
💡 Yesterday Butterflies and Snowdrops enjoyed exploring a sensory room. It supported the children in developing their ability to process visual, auditory and tactile stimuli.
Furthermore, it created a calm environment that allowed the children to regulate their emotions 💚
👷♂️Today Hedgehogs enjoyed learning about people who help us.
They learnt about builders and used their gross and fine motor skills to build and use a variety of tools & equipment 🧰
🔢 Badgers worked on their Maths skills while building a city out of blocks.
They found the right amount of blocks to match the numbers from 0 to 9, compared the height of towers, and tried to predict if the next tower in their city was going to be taller or shorter by looking at the numbers.
The children also worked on their focus and waiting during the activity. 🎓

Badgers and Hedgehogs enjoyed bean bag and racket races. They also worked on their hand eye co-ordination by hitting balls and balloons to their partners.

⚽️ CELEBRATING THE EUROS
Badgers have been enjoying different memory games, this week we’ve played a Football Memory Game.
The children learned some new vocabulary whilst looking for matching pictures.
We worked on maintaining focus for longer periods of time, paying attention to details and taking turns ⚽️

⚽️ CELEBRATING THE EUROS
Badgers enjoyed a game of finger football with their friends cheering them on from the sidelines 🙌
The children took turns in playing on the pitch and supporting each other.
This was a great opportunity for them to develop their listening skills whilst having to follow instructions.
Turn-taking is an essential social skill that helps Children in so many ways especially for school readiness & emotional regulation 💚
